Cotto Martinez is a good fight for boxing period even if Martinez is favored to win.

Martinez has moved up from his domination at his natural weight of 154lbs and went on to beat Pavlik at 160 and still gets hated. People were praising Loma for facing Salido and Canelo for facing after Lara made hm quit and now they hate on Cotto for wanting to challenge Martinez.

I remember seeing black and white footage of an old boxing manager, talking about getting into the sport back when he was 16, and he said everybody told him "don't bother, it's a dying sport"

now considering the footage of him as an old man was in black and white, you can imagine just how long people have been saying boxing is a dying sport, people have actually been born, lived, and died in all of the time boxing has meant to be just "dying".

Most people don't have a problem with the fight. Everyone has their own agenda though which shapes their viewpoint. The TS is probably a Golovkin fan.

sergio martinez has blazed a serious trail and should be more celebrated as a fighter.

cotto is the one that challenged martinez...so why are you giving him ****? cotto is the one taking on the challenge here by trying to become the first puerto rican to win a title in 4 weight divisions. with martinez coming off injury and a subpar performance in his last fight....this match up is interesting. i don't believe its a guaranteed win for martinez when u consider that he has been on the downslide and cotto's recent decision to train with freddie roach has him on a come up.

i believe martinez will win....but i won't be shocked if cotto beats him. martinez has said that he intends to fight golovkin after he beats cotto. his path wasn't paved and he wasn't supposed to win some of the fights he took to get to this point.

boxing is not dead or dying. stop with the chicken little act.

nothing wrong with hyping up a guy fighting for the middleweight title who has lost 2 of his last 3 at junior middleweight

Minute 6:00, Serg says he first has to fight Cotto, but yes, he wants to fight 3G after this fight, he wants only 2 fights, Money or 3G.

Then all u haters can talk trash and say he's a coward.

They have to hype this fight. Lord knows the promoter and network put up enough money to get these two past prime boxers in rapid decline this huge PPV date and venue.

Expect the winner to get an even bigger payday against someone other than the best fighter in the division(Golovkin).

from what i've read so far, it looks as though Martinez is pissed at Cotto
for acting like a diva during negotiations and is planning to put an ass-kicking
    on MC.

Leonard? The guy who rushed a rematch with Duran because he wanted to catch him out of shape so he would not be 100% During the fight? The guy who refused to give Hagler a Rematch until it was to late? Evan Headbutt Fields? George Foreman? The guy who stopped his fight with Tyson from happening and blaming not wanting to do business with Don King despite that King's involvement would not effect him in any way since he was not his promoter?

Gee I wonder if Floyd would get a pass fighting someone smaller who was 2-2 in his last 4 with no wins over anyone relevant and losing decisively in the two losses

Hypocritical b*stards. Sergio gets a pass though, right?
