I think the situation is likely to be problematic, especially for the winner of Usyk against Joshua II who will have three titles. - Ruiz and Ortiz will face each other for the mandatory WBC title. The winner will surely wait because Whyte in April was already mandatory. - Hrgovic and Zhang will face each other for the mandatory IBF title. The last was Pulev in December 2020. - Hunter and Hughie Fury will likely be rescheduled by the end of the year for the mandatory WBA title. The last was Povetkin in September 2018. - I believe that there is nothing official but Joyce and Parker being 1st and 2nd WBO, their fight should be for the place of obligatory. The last was Usyk in September 2021.
Would be ideal if two sanctioning bodies would have their number 1 contender fight in a final eliminator, with the winner then fulfilling two mandatories at the same time
Hunter vs Fury is not the final eliminator for the real WBA belt though. I think the winner will be ordered to fight Dubois for the secondary belt.
Agreed. But Dubois may fight Helenius in October and set the mandatory right, the fight is being explored. All very strange within the Wba Hw scene. I hope these 4 would battle it out for the position IBF mandatory will be set next August 20th, should be enforced before the end of the year WBO mandatory will be set next September 24th, should be called next year WBC mandatory will probably be set next year as Wilder vs Ruiz seems to be the intention going forward
