In a Ring Mag interview he admitted he had used heroin the day of the fight. His addictions would become his downfall.

Wasn't there mulitple Carrasco fights? In those days you got some of ur boxing results a month later in your Ring or Boxing Illustrated magazines out of the mailbox.

Actually the Teo Cruz fight was him going out on the town with Raul Rojas who was fighting a non-title on the card. The story was that Rojas heard the card was cancelled the night before and he grabs young Ramos, who was all too willing to go party. Don't know what their pleasure was, but by the time Jackie McCoy found them to tell them the fights were back on, it is any guess what shape they were in. And they both lost. However, the Heroin story was definitely from the Carmona fight. Rumor was that the cops picked him up walking naked on the beach in la-la land the night before the fight.

Hmm... I wish I still had the copy of the Ring with that interview. If anyone has access, it's from the mid-90's. I could certainly be mis-rememebering.
