manfredo jr is back on track after out classing walid smichet on saturaday. Manfredo boxed walid and picked his shots. This win puts him on track down to the middleweight division.

Abraham/Manfredo: Arthur by highlight reel KO, and it takes a week to find all the parts to his head.

Pavlik/Manfredo: Pavlik by highlight reel 3 round beating, and Peter never fights again.

Williams/Manfredo: TKO in 9-10 rounds with Paul leading by 8 rounds on all the cards.

    Sturm/Manfredo: Sturm, 120-108, 118-110, 118-110.

manfredo will do good things in the middleweight division. His next couple of fights will be against minimal compition but as soon as his oppenents get better he will go back to freddie roach. Freddie roach will train him for his bigger fights and for his next tittle shot.
Duddy is overated, mora is junk, and pavlik can be outboxed. Manfredo will be in the top 3 within one year.

He has the potential to be top 5 at MW only because it's so weak right now, but he can also sell tickets so I imagine that eventually he will get another big shot, deserved or not. He was smart in calling out Duddy, it's a big money fight that he actually has a shot at winning, he was aloso smart in going back to 160.

Manfredo's not as horrible as some people make him out to be (I thought he beat Lacy and Mora the second time, and he has a few other pretty good wins on his resume), but when you take into account his complete lack of quickness and his occasional unwillingness to throw punches to make something happen, at the end of the day he still really ends up being a really good gatekeeper. Any very good fighter should beat him 100% of the time. In a normal era, he'd have no shot at top 10, but in this era, if he moves down to middleweight, I don't see how he's any worse than guys like David Lopez and Marco Antonio Rubio and Ray Joval and a number of other guys who were recently in the middleweight top 10.

Manfredo is ok but clearly a level below Abraham and Pavlik.
