That was a brutal beatdown. Sakuraba really needs to retire. He takes way too much punishment. Manhoef looked good but nothing more than what was expected. His usual ruthless self. I love how he dragged Sakuraba into the centre to pound him.
he should've retired years ago...but he probably will keep on doing this till he's 50 (well maybe not)...though it doesn't seem far fetched. (Dan Severn is doing it ...Still fighting in 2008
It was hard enough watching him take beatings from Wanderlei and just about every other beast that Pride had to offer.
I love Manhoef's striking. It was funny to see him greet Sakuraba w/ a right as soon as he dragged him to the middle on the canvas.
I went out on a huge limb and predicted Sak. Him getting crushed by Manhoef seemed way too obvious, and this is a sport that likes to throw curveballs. Well, the obvious happened this time around. Sak took another horrendous beating. Manhoef just tore him up. Time for Sak to hang up the boots. And I'd love to see Melvin inside the Octagon.
Wow. That was pure destruction. Manhoef is a baaad man! I figured he was too green in submissions to be able to cope with Sak - but he seemed tol avoid them just fine.
