Will Teddy Atlas be at ringside again in this rematch in order to illuminate us with his boxistic wisdom?
For the most part, yes. Horn looking like a stumbling fool swinging wildy when Manny forced him to come forward.
Hopefully not lol! I had to watch the fight three times and with no sound because he completely messed with my head the first time hehe.. He can definitely talk some serious s**t... but hey Arum did say it was more than likely going to be ESPN again and you know if its ESPN hes probably there again
To be honest Atlas had me confused during his commentary because I was having difficulty detecting all the nuances he was referring to. He had me convinced that I was either going blind or else was slipping gradually out of contact with reality. BTW Wasn't there talk about the Australian government denying him personal access to ringside if the match took place down under again?
The impression I got from watching some of his fights is that Horn always fights coming forward with his chin tucked in and the crown of his head in a ramming position.
You mean that stuff the bull elephants exude on their faces when rutting season comes around. I didn't know they were marketing it! Thought that they were targeted mainly for their ivory tusks.
Would be weird if the Ausies ban Atlas from the event as persona non grata and he smuggles himself through customs anyways and shows up unexpectedly at ringside post fight interview to rain on Horn's parade once again with another: "Did you really think you won that fight? I personally think you lost!"
Manny looking to reclaim his place on the P4P throne. He's going to rip his crown off the head of King Jeffrey Baratheon Horn and take back what belongs to him.
I think this is the right fight for Manny to sign up to mandatory drug testing. Come in clean, fight the fight & ride off into the sunset win, lose or draw with his long-term legacy intact.
I thought that drug testing before and after a fight was mandatory. James Toney was tested positive for drug use AFTER the Ruiz fight and was divested of his title.
I don't really see a downside for Manny here. He essentially is able to double dip on a massive payday in Australia as a result of the decision in the first fight. I think he made something like ten million the first time. I expect the clamor for this fight to be much greater since Horn actually beat him, allowing Manny to take a larger purse potentially. Of course Horn will get paid much more for the rematch as well. On top of that, I actually think Manny will clearly beat Horn this time. Then he will ride off into the sunset on the back of two big paydays to bolster his retirement fund. Should he lose, we all know he is past it anyway and won't hold it against him legacy-wise. It's a win all around really.
