Some have asked is Cotto better than Ricky Hatton, I think a better question is is Cotto a better boxer than Marco Antonio Barrera? I do not think he is. What worry me is can Manny take the punch of a bigger man like Cotto? Manny must use the angles he work on in training in this fight and he can outbox Cotto. i am a little nervous i admit.
I dont think Manny can take a punch of a fully fledged welter. But again, even that statement has many questions surrounding it. Keeping in mind manny has never received a meaningful punch above 130. I think pacman will get caught in the fight, and honestly Im tied as to who will come out on top. I think pacmans speed will be the deciding factor and I believe he has enough power to keep Cotto honest, but not enough to stop him. I see pacman winning on a SD decision but I do hope Im wrong. If anyone gets stopped itll be pacman. Cotto only gets stopped if its cut related.
Erm, the two fights are incomparable dude. Not only is Manny himself a different fighter to what he was back then, Cotto is nothing like Barrera, and will employ tactics very dissimilar.
