Manny Flinched First By Coach Tim Walker - According to reputable sources (Pacquiao's official website, mpboxing.com) Manny Pacquiao, WBO welterweight champion, is considering accepting the cutoff request for random Olympic style blood test in order to fight Floyd Mayweather Junior. A fight between the two superstars was all but done when, at the urging of Mayweather, the two sides could not agree on the test and it's cutoff date. Mayweather held out for a 14-day cut-off on the tests, while Pacquiao was not willing to accept the random protocol unless the cutoff was no less than 24-days prior to the fight. Now Pacquiao is willing to meet Mayweather's number.. "I am willing to help the sport for the future of the sport. I do not want to see anyone cheat or cheat this sport. For that reason I am willing to consider taking blood as close as 14 days prior to the fight, as long as, my opponent does the same, and it is not a lot of blood, just enough to test." "I do not want anyone having an unfair advantage where someone may get hurt. I am willing to do my part to help this sport out." Pacquiao, in a statement on Philstar.com, "If I hit Mayweather like that (second round against Mosley), I will finish him off." I expect that the 14 day cutoff might not be possible now considering that Mosley agreed to the blood test up to the day of the fight. Still, anything is possible in boxing. Manny Pacquiao promoter, Bob Arum, is refuting the statements concerning his willingness to take the Olympic style blood test. According to an official statement from Bob Arum, Manny Pacquiao quotes from yesterday were not genuine. Arum contends that Pacquiao is not willing to do any testing within a 24 day window froma fight date. Further, he refuses to bend from the originally agreed upon 50/50 purse split. It should be noted that the statements were in fact on Manny Pacquiao's website though they are not there today. Just wanted to let you know. A few points: 1) it is about time! 2) Arum is a punk 3) is 14 days enough now? If Manny now say yes to 14 days and floyd says no he wants fully random (like with SSM) who is right? 4) i am a fan of both guys (I am also a fan Of SSM) and one guy will probably lose bad so I am torn if I want to see this fight happen at all
oh.my ****ing.god.this topic has been beaten to death...Manny hasn't agreed to ****,the reports have been refuted.
I'm not saying Arum isn't a lying scum bag and it doesn't make sense for something to pop up on his official website that doesn't come from him but the majority of official sites aren't ever actually checked by the person who the site is about.until something like this pops up. Manny hasn't specified anything. I'd put more precedence on my political campaign too than trying to get entangled in that cluster**** they called negotiations the first time.the only thing about testing he's mentioned recently was when he called a morning talk show and said he doesn't want it on the day of the fight or too close in case he can't recover well. I thought it was funny that the person who supposedly conducted the interview was named timothy james..made me wonder if an esb resident pulled off a sports/internet prank of epic proportions. That being said, if Mayweather budges then it sets him up to look like he really did get into this testing thing to grab Manny by the short hairs. He can't back up and give a 14 day test cut off right now unless he comes out and spins it that Mosley needed more testing because he had a history.he did get one more blood test than Mayweather,I believe that story was on the Scene.
It is Pac's fault. He is just randomly pulling dates out of his butt. The original agreement stopped BLOOD at 14 days, but all other testing was available. Now 14 days is good enough because you don't have options? Suck it. FMJ bent over backwards and was FORCED to NOT use USADA due to Pac's silly demands. He bent. What did he get? 30, 24, then a canceled fight only to have Pac go and blood test at 20 days for Clottey and spar the day after. Pac's demands are a complete joke. USADA testing or let Pac get the (*) on his career.
i thought the reports came out that it was also on pacman craveonline dot com, which is the official site? i checked it earlier and i saw the press release when it was still up.right below koncz refuting it.
I did not post this until i saw it put up on ESPN's website. Dan is no lover of PBF and has a hell of a lot of inside info so I believe him on this one.
a lot of people did that.there was like a day's worth of delay on people putting it out when the refutement came the same day as the report about him bending to the 14 days. what gets me is some reporters were mixing different things. The official statement mentioned 14 days and then they threw in snippets of an interview he did that doesn't mention anything about it.I usually trust Dan too but I'm willing to give it a week and see what comes out.
If Mayweather does demand testing up until fight night should Pac accept a 14 day cutoff it will prove Mayweather indeed never wanted the fight. On ESPN yesterday, on the programs Around The Horn and PTI is was claimed Mayweather was making these demands because he was scared of fighting Pacquiao and losing his undefeated record. Both guys who said this were the only black guys on each panel. Seems they are fed up with the stalling of this massive fight and finally turning on Mayweather. I hope the mainstream media follows suite and puts pressure on the sensitive flower Mayweather into making the fight with Pac
It was a fake article posted on a fake "official site". I don't understand where the confusion stems from.
how the **** can people blame Manny for this...its so obvious whats happening...its a battle of EGO between MAYWEATHER AND ARUM...Arum doesn't want Manny caving into Mayweathers demands because he HATES Floyd...Manny wants the fight.
When have you heard UFC guys bitchin about steroids or anything? They don't. They have BALLS and fight.Frank Mir fought Lesnar and no doubt Lesnar was or is on somethin. You didn't hear Mir saying what Floyd is...Its called being a ***** where I come from!
