:---( pac got hit with the worst body punch ever when his hand got tangled with the ropes and margarito hit as if there was no tomorrow.
He didn't just "fail" to capitalize on it, he tried to and got the **** beat out of him for his effort. He then got intimidated, knocked down, and spent the rest of that fight trying to survive. If Manny couldn't take those Cotto bodyshots, he would have folded after being hit by those few that landed. He also took several from Margarito, and some of those bothered him. Manny is my favorite fighter but he is not invincible. What some of you fail to realize is some of his weaknesses make him a more exciting fighter. This thread is dumb and short sighted and obviously an effective ploy to get attention. Listen, someone could easily turn around and make a counter thread listing the time Floyd was buzzed by Mosley & Corley, and proclaim how obvious it is that he can't "take" a head shot, and you wouldn't be smart enough to realize you would be a hypocrite for getting pissed at it. Calm down and stop hating, that **** isn't a good look for anybody.
he struggled on body punches during his days below featherweight. the moment he steps in the ring against barerra and other fighters north of featherweight, he improved his punch resistance on the body by taking insane core training. then he developed his right hand, then he developed his footwork more, and so on and so forth.
I think not getting knocked down by the punch and getting back to his gameplan asap and recovering quickly is a testement to how he can "take" a body punch, especially when it comes from a Middleweight with underrated body punching. This content is protected Oh, not to mention take on Cotto and Hatton and never be bothered, (Pacquiao was never bothered in the Cotto fight, the fight was one sided after round 3, and before then they were just sorting eachother out, Cotto was gone when he felt his power, as was Shane) fair play to Hatton hitting him with a little shot in the second round but it did nothing to stop Pacquiao.
he also nearly hit the deck from margarito's body shots. however, whether floyd could withstand margarito's body shots is unknown. i think pac's body is alot stronger than he gets credit for mind, and the 'stoppage by body shot' he had in the past are pretty irrelevant nowadays......
YAll should check out some sparring footage of Manny raising his arms and letting his bigger sparring partner rain down body shots to his ribcage.
