Sounds about right........He's looking to be lean and mean in there with Floyd.....His focus will be speed, explosiveness and power. Floyd is bulking up and seems to be focusing on the KO....so I expect to see some more juice from Floyd. His weight might be around 145 for the weighin and 147 on the day of the fight. :deal
I expect Floyd to have a decent weight advantage over Manny as well. Jr. Middleweight on fight night for Floyd will not be a surprise with how he's been adding some mass to his frame.
10 lbs of difference is a hell of a deal, at those classes. Floyd: "i'm bigger, longer, stronger. I'm a big welterweight" *****s: "he's not bigger, he's a small welterweight"
Same here. Theres being lightening quick against a big stiff like Margo but a bigger Floyd will be a different proposition.
143 today.......he'll most likely be around 145 for the weighin and add a few pounds on fight night. He'll be a full fledged welterweight on the 2nd. Floyd's weight and size could be a factor but Manny needs to be light and mobile so he can keep up a steady work rate if he wants to beat Mayweather.
Pacquiao has been a Welterweight since 2009. If six years isn't good enough, then he wouldn't have the successful record he has at Welterweight.
He hopefully makes it to 146. Fully relying on speed won't be a good enough strategy for Mayweather. He needs to have a little bit of both speed and power to seriously compete in this one. As ISPEAKUMTROOTH stated above, relying fully on speed for a stiff sand bag like Concreto is a great strategy to fully counter the zombie slow plodder, but for Mayweather it won't be good enough.
It iis, but we expected him to weigh 155 to 160 fight night. There is a significant size difference, but mannys plan is for speed and explosion not to clinch or walk him down. I wish manny were bigger, but it is what it is, and manny is used to the size discrepancy. I think he'll ve all right at 145 146 at the weigh in and 147ish hopefully fight night.
