The Reason Manny is so sick isnt really even so much about his hand speed.... its about his incredible accuracy and the fact that he never stops throwing shots.... and im not talking about raw output but just the end point of his combo's. Most fighters will throw like a 2-3 punch combo and only throw it out of being trained to do so. Manny's combo's are like 4-7 punch combo's with deadly accuracy and intent behind each punch. floyd mentally breaks you down but 1 punch at a time and thats why over a course of the fight floyds opponents flutter out late. Manny does the same exact thing except instead of throwing 1 punch at a time and wearing you down like that, manny will wear you down mentally with 3 punches at a time. this is the exact reason why later on into the fight cotto was so tentative to throw any punches. cotto was mentally broken after like 4th round.

In terms of an actual match up I always had a hard time matching them up in my head because floyd fights so solidly and pacman fights so eradictly, but after watching the cotto fight i got better vision of what the pacman fight will look like.

    it depends on

where floyd chooses to fight at (distance inside, arms length or outside)
    floyd mental strength
    pacman's timing

i cant exactly call a winner because it will depend on what each guy will want to do but there are things that each guy does that can really bother the other.

pacman fights amazinly at arms length. he isnt Spectactular inside and he isnt really a "boxer" so he doesnt do to much fighting from outside. if you ever watch the zab judah fight you will notice that floyd struggled the most wiht zab early because zab was beating him to the punch from arms distance which as far as i know is floyds worse region of fighting. atleast as shown in teh zab fight. if floyd tries to fight pacman in that part of the ring floyd could lose the fight. thats also where floyds mental strength will come into play. against pacman you cannot get discouraged becasue if you do you will basically be a dead man walking because you will stop fighting... like we saw in odlh & cotto

another big part of the fight will be those long lunging punches that floyd loves to throw to the stomach & to the face. if pacman can time floyd comign in with one of those i can see floyd getting knocked "down" not out but down.... because he comes in so fast that his balance can be 100% there

now on the flip side...the fight could be a typical mayweather fight.. where in he just fights from outside...way far outside and just works his jab on the way in and flys back out... which doesnt give manny a chance to explode with combo's.... if he can do this... it will be a easy win because manny would get discouraged and just start gambling and probably get caught with something and get knocked out..

i think if i had to predict an outcome i would either say a wide ass floyd decision 8-4 (pacman wins rounds early but floyd makes his usual adjustments)

or pacman decisions floyd because floyd just winds up waiting for too long to try to out score pacman and in the course of the fight will just get to far behind on points

i dont exactly see a knock out for either guy because i think if floyd wont take enough risks to get hit that much (and i dont think 1 punch will put floyd out) and i dont think floyd will engage pacman enough to get a knock out.... unless he does it off one punch which is certainly possible

I'm impressed. I agree completely, didnt think you could break a fight down like that. I too dont see a KO.

Yeah, while I definitely think Floyd has underrated power, I just don't see him letting his hands go enough to actually KO Pac. On the flipside, because I don't see Floyd taking the risk to land big shots, I doubt Pac will find sufficient openings to do any significant damage.

The is the biggest possible fight in boxing today, but it doesn't really hold the promise of being a very exciting fight. At best it will be like Pac-JMM II, at worst, maybe something like Mayweather-Marquez.

ha ha... when people stop calling me a "nut hugger" and a "pw sucker" you will see that i'm a good poster and know what im talking about

he wouldnt because unless he had pac completely discouraged it wouldnt be worth giving pac the opportunity to hit him back...

it will be exciting tho.. extremley exciting from a tactical stand point... it would be like chess...

probably has the potential to be one of the most beautiful matchups from a tactical stand point because pacman is like

one of the purest offensive fighters ever
    and

floyd on the other hand is one of the purest defensive fighters ever

let me make an observation about floyd:

Many boxers duck/slip/block (counter)punches because they learn that through repitition on the mitts. So it becomes reflexive after they through their combinations. It looks deliberate but its just good training.
Floyd sees the punches coming and avoids them. That is some skill. He also counters with devastating speed.

Thats why a fight between the two is so intriguing, their styles suit each other.

another thing that floyd knows how to do that would hurt manny is successfully clinch

floyd would just dart in with a jab or a power shot then lock manny up

One of Floyds greatest skills id not being afraid of stinking the place out and making even Tiger Woods walk out due to bordom. He'll elect to box Manny and avoid contact at all costs.
