Stayed on the outside and at the end of Floyd's punching range almost the entire night. When he attacked he had some success. He was content to fight on the outside and try and outbox Floyd and that was the wrong strategy. Opportunity wasted.
I don't think it's as simple as that. Everyone has a plan but once they get in the ring they realise Mayweather is another level of fighter.
He felt the right hand in round 1 and knew it would hurt him. There is no blueprint to beat Mayweather. Floyd is that Great!
Actually, it IS as simple as that because Manny isn't slow. When Manny went forward, Floyd move backwards, and Manny had success. It was the WRONG strategy.
He couldn't do much else. If he rushed in too recklessly he could have got dropped or KO'd. At this stage in his career Pacquiao isn't explosive enough to do much against a guy with as good reflexes, defence and counter punching ability as Floyd. Even in his prime Pacquiao might not have had enough to beat Floyd.
Manny fought a fight? Really? I must have missed it. I think I scored maybe one round for Manny. I'm a fan of both men, but I feel like I've been conned right now. Manny should take the money and run as he clearly had no plan A or B. He should retire. Edit: So should Roach. What a joke.
Floyd controlled the fight and Manny just couldn't hurt him. But I thought Mayweather was going to do more damage. He just did enough to win rounds.
