If Pac didn't let himself get hit, we wouldn't be talking about If Pac can take shots @ WW.

If cotto had fought mayweather instead of pacquiao, i bet cotto would have done more damage, forced PBF into the ropes more and landed more than he landed on Pacquiao. DLH and Hatton landed more on PBF then they ever did on Pacquiao, and i bet cotto would have done much better. and for all his skills, Mosley got hit more by cotto than cotto ever landed on Pacquiao, and that is including the times Pacquiao allowed cottoto punch for free to test his power.

seriously you don't know how hard it is to land on pacquiao, you underrate his defense. the only reason he looks like he has poor defense is becuase he always fights high quality and elite level opposition. and factor in that in the first morales fight, Pacquiao was looking to finish morales by brawling and has no intention to box.

Mayweather has splendid defense against low quality opposition but when he steps up i.e. castillo, hatton, dlh, his defense don't look too good

pacquiao fought david diaz, the type of fighter mayweather usually feasts on and damn pacquiao looked untouchable, but when he steps up of course he will get hit. same applies to mayweather. Any elite fighter can look good and godly against low level opponents, but when they step up they will eventually get hit. pac is underrated and looks like he has poor defense to most fans because he is not the type of fighter who would rather look good and untouchable against bums and tomato cans. he prefers to fight the best and look vulnerable/hittable in the process

the thing with pacquiao now is he is starting to look good and godly even against high quality opponents and he is doing it as he steps up in weight.

Lol at all those saying PBF will outbox pacquiao silly. Pacquiao is not a stationary, flatfooted, sloppy-punching bum like the ones pbf looked very good against-ndou, gatti, baldomir. hell, zab judah, DLH, and hatton landed on PBF, Pacquiao would more than match that. lets see how good pbf's defense is against a live opponent who can punch and can sustain it for 12 rounds. marquez would have been a good test for PBF but it was not to be since marquez was flatfooted and very awfully slow and powerless at welterweight. Pacquiao on the other hand is still elite at welter, floyd's defense will look overrated against pacquaio. I even bet cotto could do damage against mayweather comparing what hatton had been able to do, the same hatton who lost to colllazo at 147.

i think it was more about ego rather than the opposition....people are saying cotto has more pop in his punch vs pac, and pac wanted to tell everyone it aint so by letting cotto wail at him...which was a dumb move on pac's part...

thats what seperates pbf from pac.....pbf is a safety first fighter while pac takes chances in the ring which could be fatal in a fight and also in the long run (after boxing).....

Its funny how you *******s talk all this **** but Floyd is the least bit intimidated. He already knows he can beat Manny. Its a styles thing.

Of course he knows he "can" beat Manny....Ricky, DLH, JMM, MAB, EM and Cotto all knew they could beat PAC....but getting the job done is a completely other story. Floyd has a better chance at doing what the others could not but he'll be in a fight that he's never had before which is what I care about. I want to see Floyd FIGHT! And PAC will get him to do that......I'm thinking Floyd will do enough to etch out a razor close decision, but he'll look like he was in a fight!

He did get hit a lot but that happens when you fight someone good. No avoiding it, but he cannot have fights like this each time out. It wears fighters out quickly. Hagler had the two hard fights with Hearns and Mugabi and seemed to age fast, not to mention after Hearns he took a year off and then had another tough fight when he was rusty with Mugabi.

percentages or not. Even if Cotto landed 5 percent of his punches, when I saw Pacman after the fight he got hit hard and often just by the looks of it. Those type fights are never good for fighters.

Cotto is really strong because even just a few punches wrecked Pac's face. But the thread is about Manny getting hit a lot. Compared to other Pac's opponents, Pac got hit more. But compared to other Cotto's opponents, Pac got hit less.

The thread title should have been, "Cotto is a bad ass m*f*r. He busted Pac's face with few shots."

Pac being hit those big shots from cotto is the best thing that happened to pac. It shattered those belief that he will be gone once hit by a true welter punch (he was never tested at 140 up). Imagine if he destroyed cotto without taking those bombs just like the DLH & Hatoon fight.

By walking down those punches from cotto, pac has increased his chances in his potential fight with floyd. after floyd's magnificent win over jmm, no one gives pac a chance against floyd. his exceptional handling of cotto's bombs changed it.

It is the other way around. Now the chances of getting a Mayweather fight is slim to none. A fighter who poses a threat will never be included in the list of Mayweather foes.
