Wlad "best total package"? :huh

I would say that distinction belongs to Lennox Lewis.

Lewis could fight great, shown in battles with Mason, Mercer, Briggs & Vitali... Wlad can box great (as can Lewis), but i say he lacks the ability to fight on the level of Lewis, mainly because Lewis is more durable, has a better chin, & most importantly greater mental strength.

 

tbh i think that can only be compared when wlad retires..wlad hasnt finished yet.maybe just maybe haye is the man to living up the division but not in the way he thinks hes going to do it

 

When Manny is running down the division or Vitali the haters call it the "Gospel".
But when he says Wladimir is the most talented fighter he ever worked with the haters say he's lying....... Klitschko haters are so funny.....

I agree that Lennox had great mental strength, better than Wlad, but chin? C'mon, there's nothing that leads me to believe Lennox's chin was better than Wlad's. Let's face it, we're splitting straws here. Both are great fighters and yes, Lewis still ranks ahead of Wladimir on the All Time Greats list.

 

Lewis wasn't sent sprawling 12 times.

Lewis actually took punches and went to war with opponents - Wlad knows his chin wouldn't stand up to that.

 

Fail. Lewis was out for the count against Rahman, Wlad's never been out for the count.

 

Lewis was down twice only because he couldn't get back up!

 

He was down against Sanders - first knockdown, I think - about as long as Lennox was to Rahman, if not longer. I'm not going to accuse the ref of intentionally making a long count because they come in all different shapes and sizes depending on the situation, but there are plenty of officials who would have been waving their arms as Wlad Rose to his feet in that instance.

The fact is that Wlad has never walked through shots like those Lewis took vs Bruno, Mercer and Vitali and stayed upright. He's a fine champion, but I think the only thing that might cause his jaw to be reassessed is if he takes a few big shots and comes through unscathed.

Its funny Haye highlighting Wlads holding, that's what Lennox did against Tyson early on....he got warned for it

 

Fair enough. Lewis is retired after & very successful career, Wlad is still building his legacy & if he can unify all 4 of the major belts he should crack the top 10. Lewis is already top 5 or so.

 

Ali was famous for holding, hitting while holding, throwing elbows, etc. & all these boxing "fans" never bring that **** up but when Wlad does it he's a *****, a cheat, etc.
