Manny just made $180 Million Dollars last May, Why did he need a $2 million advance?

Manny Pacquiao doesn't seem like a business savvy guy. He's a very poorly educated guy who made his living bashing people's faces in. He never had a chance. That's how life can be in the third world. He's a one in 100 million type person.

 

Wouldn't surprise me if he's getting fleeced by "political allies" and "business partners" in his home country.
Also, there's Arum.

He's probably turned all of his money over to money managers and put himself on a monthly allowance, to stay rich. An advance from Arum on his next fight would be some play money he could have some fun with, and he wouldn't have to liquidate any investments.

and yet no one thinks Floyd is smart enough to do this...lol....we have guys talking on here daily about how they are sure Floyd will go broke....yet Floyd has told us openly that he gets a check every month and will be getting one for the rest of his life.....

This isn't strange or signs of bad money handling. It's normal for fighters to get a small portion of their money in advance. Relax.

 

He has taken advances on just about all his fights. Fat Dan reported this a while back.

 

At the time of the fight Manny still owed the IRS and his hone country somewhere around $70M in back taxes.
After US tax deduction, Arum, trainer, expenses, and Arum's inflated expenses Pac would have been lucky to have taken home even $1M of that $180M.
Poor fellow.

I imagine in that hotel room discussion they had, Mayweather took the time to hip Pac to the American tradition of fleecing and exactly how TR does it.
He's probably like; "Haymon sets me up with Trusts and annuities that pay me $5M/month for life. Did Arum do this for you"?
