Clearly Pac had respect for Hatton's power so why didn't Hatton just to the basics and keep his gloves close to his head in stead of holding them out in front of his face and leaving big gaps around his guard.

Also Manny always had his chin well tucked in except when he dipped below Hatton's waist. In contrast Hatton hung his chin out to dry worse than Macaroni did in the David Haye fight.

These are boxing basics. The final shot that KOed him was basically invited in by his poor positiong and lack of defense. Even Pac said after the fight that everytime Hatton punched he would be wide open.

Basic defence = punch with one glove and bring it back to guard position whilst using the ither glove to protect the opposite side of the face.

Somehow Pac is able to slip punches and simultaneously land big accurate shots from awkward angles. He must have been watching tapes of Nazeem Hamed these past few years.

If he wasnt going to keep his hands up then he should have at least moved his head and used feints

Hatton made a career fighting that way with poor defense, can't change it completely after only two training camps.

I have boxed actually in that is what I was taught as a kid. Your not supposed to throw a punch and withdraw your hand back to your chest level which is basically what Hatton did with his left jab.

Hatton took it too much to heart when his mother asked, "If all the boxers who work on their defense jumped off a bridge, would you do it, too?"

It was clear Manny respected Hatton because he was backing up and looking to land counters. Instead of coming forward like he always does.
