    I disagree.

DLH fought even stronger competition than Pacquiao. He won more titles than Pacquiao even with Pacquiao's climb. And DLH is more skilled. Pacquiao's top wins aren't as good as DLH's yet either. MAB, Morales and JMM are top notch. Chavez and Whitaker are even more impressive IMO. Vargas, Quartey, the list goes on.

As for the Diaz fight, yes he looked impressive. But no more so than I expected. I predicted an earlier KO than this. Diaz's style was either going to make Pacquiao look godly (it did) or horrible (if Pacquiao was too small, he wasn't).

I don't think you'll find anyone rating him near Hopkins or Jones, and most won't put him near DLH at this point. A win over Diaz wasn't going to push him over the hump.

I was amazed with pac's composure. he truly has evolved from a crude boxer back in the days to an outstanding fighter worthy of being called the p4p#1. yes it's only david diaz but the way he demolished him was really something.

Kryptonite often comes from places you don't expect. I suspect its amongst the 135lb class to be honest.

Yes he looked great, and while it was David Diaz, credit has to be given to A level fighters who wipe out B level guys. Its an important part of the game--not as important as the A level guys, but important in its own right.

I disagree, DLH never won a big fight against any other greats..and I would excuse the robberies against Ike and Sturm. History will judge manny..He will certainly be higher than Hopkins and DLH...but then again you'll just say that its not your list so it doesnt matter.

As for the fight, Diaz is not easy to knock down..Pac toyed with him with all night with the right hand. Im sure Diaz is a bum but consider that this bum has never taken this much beating.

Ive stated before that he has great chance to be known as the best fighter of this decade. All he needs is a decisive win over Casamayor and he is a lock.

    VERY GOOD POST!!!

It was a very impressive win...but as I have said many times over (before the fight happened and now), its still a win over DAVID DIAZ!!! Does he deserve an immense amount of credit for winning a title at 135? Of course...but some people are blowing this WAY out of porportion.

if casa wins against marquez, i would certainly want this fight to happen this december for some kind of lightweight unification.

I dont think JMM is Pac's Kryptonite, if they fought 10 times Id say they both would win 4 times each with 2 being draw.

Pac's Kryptonite was a prime Morales.

If you're not going to be rational, then lets just stop right here. No wins over other greats?

Chavez 2x and Whitaker are both higher rated fighters than ANY fighter Pacquiao has defeated. And Pacquiao's secondary resume pales in comparison to DLH's (as does anyone elses resume from the past 15 years, so it's not just Manny). I just named what many feel are two Top 20 ATG's, so lets not make things up.

I don't say crap like "it's not my list so I don't care about it" unless someone uses it as a crutch, something many Pacquiao (and Mayweather fans of recent) seem to do. Don't lay that at my feet.

It's not the fact that he beat Diaz that makes his resume look better or whatever, but the fact he made history by winning another title in another division, defying the claims that his speed and power was gonna' decline, and that he did something no asian fighter has ever done..

Again, history will judge it this way..Pacs not done! Again Its not me who will make this list, its not you either..why does it matter? , like I said..if you dont like the list..you can just say you hate Ring mag, or ESPN

I have Pacs resume ahead of Bhop right now..Bhop defended longer but Pac has jumped weight thru his career. Level of opposition, I give Pac a slight edge. Skills, technically Hop has an edge but natural talent PAC. Excitement factor, Charisma, etc etc..thats obviously preference..I like Pacs

This is shaping up to be a nice thread to be in.

I would like to mention something that I noticed tonight in regards to Pac and the weight. I saw it on the internet and the connection was choppy, but it seemed Pac was very fatigued in between rounds, and it probably has something to do with being in with the larger man. While its definently not a smoking gun, its something to watch with his moving up in weight. I suspect when he has someone returning fire at these weights that things will become more difficult, but Diaz couldn't do it.
