i agree. i have seen threads that pac would demolish hatton too. imo, hatton would be a different animal than diaz. i doubt if he would look that impressive against him. from the diaz fight, i'm also amazed with pac's strength during the early rounds. he did not let the much bigger, framewise, diaz push him and instead used his shoulders and some nice jabs to stop diaz off his track.
i think pacman has already surpassed DLH resume-wise seeing as how DLH has failed against most of the hall of famers on his resume and pacman prevails
KG, you can't blame him for not KOing him sooner. Diaz was in tremendous shape apparently. I had predicted a earlier one as well, but Pac unloaded all he could to no avail till 9th.
History hasn't judged it this way (or in any way). So you can't exactly use that as a point of contention against another poster.
You see I expected more..I didnt mention Chavez and Whittaker because even JCC was more shot than Morales in his 3rd fight with Pac.. As for pernell..not only was he shot as well..but we throw words like unjust decisions here concerning PAC/JMM 2..well which do you think was more unjust DLH/Pea or Pac/JMM.. OK now ..lets ignore DLHs wins against Pea and JCC and I will ignore PACs win against Erik and JMM 2...who has a better resume?
I never said I blamed him. I merely pointed it out to illustrate that I expected a dominant performance from jump, so the WAY he won the fight isn't going to make me suddenly jump him up ATG lists. It happened just how I thought (even down to the left hook catching Diaz coming in, though I thought it would be a left hook/uppercut hybrid, Diaz usually comes in head down, but not body down).
:good Pac's Kryptonite is a guy who could take his punches and then bring the fight to him. Everyone else needed time to regroup after pac's flurries. The key to beating Pac is to stand in there with him and give him better then he's giving you. Only prime Morales had the ability to sit just on the end of Pac's punches and then step forward in to Manny after he was done flurrying.
The funny part is that I would favor Pac over Casa. I'm thinking something like this pans out: JMM/Casa -----> JMM wins Campbell/Guzman---> Guzman wins Now it would be awesome if Pac fought Guzman for the unification of IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO belts, but I think he is going to go for the winner of JMM/Casa. Like I said, I favor Pac over Casa if he beats JMM so then that would set up a showdown with Guzman/Campbell winner (I think Guzman). But otherwise if JMM beats Casa then it sets up the trilogy with Pac. In that case then I favor JMM (yes again even though I have been wrong in the past 2 fights). I think JMM knows everything he needs to know about Manny if they fight for a 3rd time. What are your guys thoughts on Guzman/Pac if it ever comes off? I'm thinking its a toss up personally
i saw this one too. i feel that pac was getting a little frustrated when he unleashed all his best shots but still diaz just keeps coming forward like pac's punches were nothing. pac was being scolded by one of his cornerman, buboy by saying that he should not pour it on but instead use some timing. i feel that if pac meet someone who is more skilled than diaz at lightweight, he would be troubled more. but not taking away from pac, i feel that diaz is the toughest lightweight out there today.
DLH came up short in almost every big match he ever had. Popularity does not equate to the greatness you now want to bestow on him. One of the greatest boxing attractions of all times thats what DLH really is.
I noticed that as well..thats why I was surprised when PAc came out of the 8th and 9th rounds like it was the first...he just unloaded on david..could be 2nd wind..but post fight Ive never seem him as fresh and relaxed.. And again, Diaz is a "bum" but hes very good and strong to the body, It had no effect
Yeah, I agree, but there were still some unknowns: - How he would handle the extra 5 lbs - How he would handle a southpaw. - How he would handle a bigger man. And he overcame those with ease. Beating Diaz in itself isn't a ATG accomblishment, but it still adds up very nicely for the unknowns, and how he handled them.
I don't think Diaz is a bum. He's a solid fighter. Pac had a great showing though. Yes he was supposed to beat Diaz, but who would have guessed that he would completely shut him out? I didn't think he would dominate him THAT badly
