It would be a very competitive fight, but I think Johnston wins a 116-112 or 115-113 decision.

Asking this in the General Forum is not exactly a good idea. I'd take most of the more proven LW's at their best, Johnston being one, along with guys like Casamayor and Castillo. Corrales is a difficult call, I'd probably lean towards Pac in that one.

Johnston was very underrated at his best, a bit like Whitaker Lite stylistically. Arguably beat Castillo in both of their fights, as well as Bazan. Wins over a prime Sharmba Mitchell and Angel Manfredy as well.

it'd be a dog fight but i'd give the edge to pac if he could get his hook working and catching stevie with it .. i could see him working the combonation of the right hook then the left uppercut .. pac would find a way to out work him ..the guy is a boxing prodigy ..

Good question. You can't just write Pac off in this fight, even though Stevie was a magnificent fighter. I would probably lean towards Stevie winning a close, but clear decision.

In regards to your post Sweet Pea, I would definitely take Pac over Corrales. Just a really bad matchup for Diego. Diego's biggest problem is that he never cut off the ring. He always followed his opponent around. 90% of the time, he did this without keeping his jab active. That is why Casamayor was so successful with landing that straight left hand. Corrales wouldn't have been able to keep eating those left hands from Pac. Not only that, but Pac has become great at pivoting to the side and landing that big right hook as well. I really don't see Corrales being able to deal with Pac's straight left, or his versatility.

Pac vs Casamayor would have been a very good fight, and I could see that one going either way. I would lean towards Castillo over Pac, because I think that Castillo's intelligent pressure, and inside fighting skills would have won out over Pac who can get a bit wreckless when he's attacking. Castillo could stay real calm under fre and return some nasty counters.

Stevie Johnston had skills...and IMO there's a reason Pac is the "Mexicutioner"...I would like to see him fight a slick fighter...I get the feeling it could possibly end up like Morales-Raheem...

Where does it say that he got schooled by a slightly shopworn Morales? Maybe in the fine print....

Oh and on the thread topic, Stevie would do what JMM can't, take Pac's shots without being rattled. He'll get in on the inside and work him over for a close but clear points win.
