Good fights but Pac wins them both. Chcico would be too easy a target and Pac will be connecting all night long to the body and head, Chico chin was suspect, not that he is easy to KO, but he is easy to drop. Pac stops him mid to late rounds.

Freitas was a better 130lber and would give a good account of his self at that weight , but I would pick him to lose a decision. At lightweight he is overawed, over powered and bullied. Pac TKO 7 roundish.

I think Freitas would outwork himself and get tko'd late...or quit. It's hard to pick the Chico fight based on styles. I know he beat DLH. Prime Chico though?

Hard really to say when Chicos prime was, but if we take it as his Casamayor and Castillo days or even the weight drained super featherweight days - Pac wins, Chico is just too easy to hit, apart from the obiligitory punchers chance he wouldnt be in the fight at all.

Personally, I don't see why people are making a case for Manny Pacquiao in this fight.

Diego Corrales was far more established at 135lb than Manny Pacquiao, who has only fought once at Lightweight and against the human punching bag, David Diaz.

Corrales brings to a table a number of things; including his height, reach, power, and athleticsm. Perhaps his height and reach would not be a big factor, because he'd probably choose to slug it out with Pacquiao, thinking he was physically stronger and the heavier puncher. He'd be right on both counts.

Castillo made the mistake of thinking Corrales could be knocked out easily, and he was the one who was knocked out. Pacquiao hasn't shown any evidence of carrying his power up through the weights yet, he had to hit Diaz about 500 times before knocking him out, and Oscar quit on his stool. Corrales however was a wrecking machine. He was knocking everybody out. Castillo had barely even been wobbled before the first fight with Corrales, and after that fight finished, he'd been wobbled in nearly every round, and stopped. Corrales broke granite that night.

If Corrales lands enough shots, he will be able to stop Manny, who has been knocked out as a Flyweight on two occasions. The nature of Manny's style, one without much defense and one of relentlessness, will mean that Corrales most surely will land, and with enough regularity to make it an early night for Chico.

    Corrales KO9

Pac would ko both, though Corrales could possibly KO PAC

Yes, I remember around this time when I thought these fighters would be way too much for Pacquiao to handle...heh. On a similar thread where it was just Corrales being proposed, sometime after Pac moved to 135, I think before Hatton, I said it would be too tall an order and asking too much of him.

This is why I have to laugh at all of Floyd's fans who are dismissing Pacquiaos wins against Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto. He's exceeded everyone's expectations.

There's a fight video on youtube that would be perfect to post here right now of one of Pac's earlier fights, because of the commentator's comments. I could probably find it fast if I didn't have this converter thingy running. Videos are hell to play while it's going. I'll come back later and post it but it's profoundly funny to me in retrospect.

I have a similar one with Marco Antonio Barrera where the commentator not only downplayed the idea of Marco beating Hamed but even went as far to imply that he'd lose a rematch with Mckinney. This was of course after his two losses to Junior Jones.

Times haved changed. Chico or Popo vs. Pac would've been sweet at jr or lightweight though.

Your exagerating what he's saying he didn't pick any winners as such and at the time reasonable analysis. A Mkkinney rematch would be a tough fight and Mkkiney was riding high then, but if the MAB who faced Junior Jones shows up to fight Hamed he's getting sparked

"If he got, he'd probably stay hit". (About Hamed fight)

"I don't think that was the same Mckinney." (About the Mckinney who fought Barrera)

"I think Barrera would be pushed to win that" (Mckinney rematch)

I said the commentator was playing down Barrera's chances in those fights. How else is one supposed to interpret those comments? :huh:think

I think a Pac vs Corrales fight would be great.

If Corrales could have got Pac to trade with him on the inside then he would have a great chance. On the inside Corrales was brilliant always in punching posistion and could drop you with very short shots. I always felt that he had trouble with speed on the outside and could take him a while to catch up to elusive opponents. Mind you as in the Gainer fight once he did catch up, you knew about it.

Corrales was prone to getting caught and droppped by fast opponents (mayweather and Casamayor).

Tough one to call - Pac probably drops him at some point and gets a close decision.
