Practical for what? learning to fight and lifting weights to look good are practical for the completely separate purposes they serve.

I am talking from the perspective of fighting.

I rather be skilled at a martial art or any other form of fighting and have a strong toned body than be a gym rat who has a false sense of security.

When it comes to fighting how much weights you lift means nothing.

Also most guys who lift do it for other men their have been studies done they do it to impress men more than women they want to show of to guys its a ego thing which is messed up.

Depends on how much you lift. Body building is pointless.

Who cares if lifting weights doesn't help you fight? I don't think people lift weights because they want to go out and get in street fights...

Unless you're the kind of guy that goes out trying to fight people who look like they lift weights because you believe they have a 'false sense of security'? You're not making much sense.

What I am trying to say is they are not willing to learn to fight they think by them looking big and muscular people would not start on them which is kind of true in general your average person will think just because someone is muscly he can fight:lol::lol:

so they live in this false sense of security

The funny thing is one a fight breaks out these big muscly guys are the first to run

Most people who lift do it to look better and feel more confident about themselves. I've never heard of anyone starting to lift weights to try and make people think they can fight?

I am not denying they do it to feel confident but they also feel that by them looking bigger and muscular they will get "RESPECT"

Maybe but it doesn't mean that they are all going out looking for fights like the way you make it sound, some are I'm sure, but then again there's skinny guys that go out looking for fights aswell.

You just contradicted yourself. And on another note, you have no idea why people workout. It's all for different reasons.

I do you are just trying to troll while I was trying to give you calculated responses.

I told you they do it so they get respect and they have this false sense of security thinking that because they are big and muscular that will somehow give them respect and people wouldn't start on them.

They think by them getting this new body it will not let people start on them but for people who are trained fighters they will call their bluff

so like is said weight lifting does nothing for you for fighting
