Exactly! the sport has change so much and added so many titles and weight classes since the old days that it really isn't as much an achievement as some believe.

 

It is diluted quite a bit that ''8 division champion'' label, he has achieved a phenomenal amount and I respect the hell out of him as a fighter, him and Floyd grew into average at best sized welterweights and consistently dispatched bigger guys coming in near middleweight sizes.

yes, when you consider that becoming champ in 4 weight classes, even in todays watered down classes, is a feat than not many can ever accomplish, then 8 division champ is something only the top .10% can ever even dream of attempting.

 

Don't ask him to critique Pacquiao's timing of opponents, he'll need to either admit Pacquiao has 'cherry picked' more often than Mayweather or retract his statements about Mayweather.

Great fighter, yes. 8 weight champ, no.. he's won real world titles at 6 weight classes, which is why knowledgeable people rank him as a 6 weight world champion. The 6th was also abit of a farce.
