im a great fan of Marquez but i dont think he can win. Mayweather is the most talented fighter since Roy Jones and he has kept in shape since his lay off. The only thing Marquez does better than Floyd is that little shuffle of his feet forward and back. Floyd will pick him off IMO and win a UD.

Also i dont think hes greater tahn Floyd but hes not far off.

btw speaking to Jeff Mayweather he says Mayweather will win as hes the best boxer of his time and has stayed in shape

There was a reason that their actual fight was called a freak show, nobody expected Pac to have a chance vs even a past prime Oscar.

Manny would get brutalized for real in a primes match.

And you may be right. I hope the odds are heavy for Floyd and I expect that they will be. Marquez is a live underdog, though, very live.

Marquez does have something critical over Floyd. Intangibles. And that is what can be enough to trump all that skill and talent and speed that Floyd can bring.

Nobody could have predicted Oscar coming in the ring at 147 or putting in the absolute worst shift of his entire career to be fair tho.

We are talking a young DLH vs Pacquiao... many wanted the past prime DLHs fight with Manny banned for Manny`s safety (not me, I thought it would be a laugh).... this would be a beatdown, without question.

Marquez does have the intangibles yes. But Mayweather has the skills that can take away the intangibles and whos to say Mayweather dosent have intangibles hes never been tested properly. I hope he gets tested in this fight so we can see what he is made of for real but i just cant see it happening

but Marquez is a true champion and can easily prove me wrong as i am often wrong

its Greg not Peter. Pater is the start of my surname

Yes, if Manny wasnt that good that night it would have at least been competitive but no doubt it was MORE a case of DLH being bad than Manny being good.

what a stupid thread oscar was an underrated lightweight and if he fought todays top lightweights he'd score early KO's over every single one of them, oscar punches a hole through manny(see the Ruelas and Molina fight for further details), this thread is a insult to the great fighter oscar was back in the 90s, it really pisses me off,

The thing that worries me is the underrated power of Mayweather. I think he packs more than enough of a punch to have Marquez on the canvas or possibly knocked out.

I really can't see Marquez troubling Mayweather with power. Not unless he lands with accumulation. IMO, thats a tall order as Mayweather is very durable. He's been wobbled a couple of times in his career, but nothing more.

A question mark hovers over Mayweather going into this fight. He's not fought since December 2007. He's now 32 years old. I'm sure he'll have lost a bit of speed with getting older and being inactive.

Not too sure how Mayweather's style will effect Marquez's punch output. Marquez has always been refined, precise, and unwasteful. He might get caught thinking too much in there with Mayweather.

Pac 2009 even beats the Oscar that destroyed Julio Cesar Chavez. Too fast, too shifty, too versatile, and too left-handed. Oscar would be trying to get off combinations but wouldn't be landing much. His left hand would be ineffective due to Pac's footwork and style. His right hand isn't good enough. On the flip side Pac's straight left would still find Oscar rather easily.
