Manny Pacquaio vs Sergio Martinez. Bob Arum interested in making it.

Roach: I think Martinez should be next for Manny.

Martinez: I'm willing to fight Manny Pacquiao to regain my WBC junior middleweight title.

Team Pacquiao: The fight only happens at 150.

Martinez: I'm willing to drain to 150 to fight Manny Pacquiao.

Team Pacquiao: Just kidding! The only way the fight happens is at 147 with a 150 rehydration clause!

 

I voted Pac KO - which is kinda crazy, BUT I based this on how Sergio's legs have been recently, coupled with his tendency to get cut up around the eyes. Maybe the in and out movement of Pac would be too much for his legs to deal with, and he ends up getting cut up?

It was a strange call maybe, but it was my honest first thought when imagining this match-up, so I voted anyway. And it's a conversation starter!

 

Would rather see Manny vs Canelo.

 

For legacy wise, would it mean more if Manny beat Canelo or Sergio? Not saying he can beat these two guys..... just curious what everyone thinks.

 

i dunno

but ill say this(and im sure its been said here already)....if pac were to fight canelo....that would be such a huge fight from the perspective of....if pac were to lose hed be basically finished.....if canelo lost....he might be able to still bounce back and be relevant( i mean losing to floyd and pac at that age shouldnt completely ruin your relevance going forward although it would def decrease his star power)

but thats such a huge risk by arum...especially if it were next....they must be pretty confident they can jump in and out and out volume canelo...like pac usually does.....i dunno how serious they are about this fight...but a loss prob sends manny into retirement or just taking fights for money

This is bullsh*t. Lets see them change their tune when Sergio rips Cotto apart. Then they'll suddenly remeber that Pac said he'd never fight above 147.

Funny how its a complete 180 from them JUST saying they wanted to go to 140.

Still, a real hard night for Pac but not an insurmountable task.
