Marquez knows the insides and outsides of pacquiao's style after fighting him 4 times throughout Pacquiao's career. And was able to capitalize on pacquiao's vulnerabilities. No other fighter would of timed pacquiao better than marquez, and now everyone is trying to capitalize on the same thing that marquez did.

Styles makes fights, and marquez figured out pacquiao's through 4 different wars.

I'm not suggesting floyd can do it but if there is someone out there he would be the only one left which is why I said maybe. Realistically though we will never know.

They are fundamentally different. Floyd is risk averse, defense first, Marquez is balls to the wall

I do agree with your statement. But that's why in my opinion FLoyd would have a much easier time with Manny than JMM did.

MOst of those exchanges Jmm would have with Manny ended up favoring Manny. FLoyd obviously minimizes the amount of risk when he fights and when he would start to counterpunch Manny, I don't think he'd try to follow up with combinations in the same manner as JMM would.

That's probably why people really love watching Marquez, he'll stick his neck out there to get into exchanges with fighters. It's fun to watch, but it's a recipe for disaster especially when fighting someone who is clearly more powerful (ie Pacman.)

FLoyd would just counter Manny anytime he tried to lunge in and box him from a distance by utilizing his 5 inch reach advantage and superlative accuracy. Manny would have to either sell out and try to fight him from the inside (which would be a bad idea,) or just continue to fight from a distance and lunge in every so often for a one in a million type of shot.

I'm on my phone so I can't write too much but really I have to say it amazes me that people still are in complete denial over pacs quite obvious fading. I called it after mosley that he was slipping, and have noted it increasingly more in every fight since. This Bradley fight was the worst pac I've seen yet and its crazy that people can watch any performance in his last 4 fights and say he's the same pac, its just not based in reality.

There is a boxing fan for every opinion out there though.

Of course he isn't the same but he seems to be adding some wrinkles to his game regarding how he uses his footwork and counterpunching and body punching. I noticed him slipping his jab over Bradley's a lot and moving well.
But yeah, he is obviously physically declining, every fighter declines.
In his prime he was an unstoppable killing machine, but he's still great.
Time to hang it up imho

Marquez is balls to the wall? Sometimes

Sometimes he looks confused on the front foot, he will war when the fight is brought to him and he feels he can fight, but when it isn't...
