    So I take it Mayweather is possibly top 5 by your analysis?

    I did Ali and Louis a couple months ago I think. Would be interesting to see how Pac stacks up here in comparison both got higher votes than Mayweather actually.

    Same boat. I really rely on the knowledge from people who are clued up on those era's here.

    Oh, I'm a huge McFarland fan. I just don't think his resume trumps beating Duran (x2), Hearns, Hagler (eh-hem), Benitez, Kalule... That top crust of Leonard's wins it pretty absurd.

    Agreed SRL's has the best 3 wins of the 2, whilst McFarland has the greater depth.

    Top ten for sure would have to think if he's in my top 5 because I don't usually put lot of the usual older fighters in my list.


    A lot of people here are stuck on narratives from their era and haven’t really re-evaluated them in light of newer information. At the same time, modern fighters tend to be held to a much harsher standard.

    I do agree modern fighters are held to a higher standard but I also think the lack of activity in the top fighters today compared to the past isn't helping.
