Yet he has managed to beat Cotto, Martinez, Cintron x2 and Clottey. What exactly does he have then?

****in Oscar only gained two pounds, I wonder if there was a rehydration clause or did Oscar come down to far for his body to even be able to recover?

Oscar made 147 a month before the fight, losing muscle in the process. He gained only 2 pounds because his weigh in weight was pretty much his real weight. 17 years as a pro fighter you would think they'd know better on the proper ways to drop weight. No rehydration clause, why the hell would De La Hoya agree on that? He dictated the terms of the fight. There was a big penalty though for every pound Oscar weighed over 147.

A rehydration clause doesn't sound likely. Oscar was the Cash Cow before Floyd was. Other prizefighters don't make Oscar do ****, he makes them do ****.

Making the fight at welterweight WOULD NOT allow them to sell this fight as history in the making first champ in EIGHT different weight classes.

the guy has been fighting around 147 lbs -> 154 lbs back and forth since 96', fought @ WW from 2005-2009 and got whooped by mosley. then fought his last match @ 153 against garcia... and now they will consider him weight drained if he fights @ 151 lbs.

Pac's speed has declined over the years as he's gotten old and moved up in weight.

    you be the judge.

The one in red was faster. There's even a difference in footspeed.

I never realized that the rehydration clause is also the weigh-in limit!!!

Pac is a genius. He asked that the weigh-in is at welterweight limit of 147 and then contractually obligatede Hoya not to gain even half a kilo after that.

So basically Hoya has to come extremely lighter than 147 (which was 145at weigh-in) and only allowed 2 kilograms of weight gain otherwise he will exceed the agreed welterweight limit.

It is sounding like there was a rehydration clause. *****s convinced me now.
