    From PhilBoxing..

Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao can't understand what the fuss is all about regarding his scuba diving in Cebu while his opponent WBC lightweight champion David Diaz was training in Chicago for their June 28 showdown at the Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao who was at special ringside at the Cebu Coliseum to watch the “Back on Track” fight card of well-known promoter Sammy Gello-ani told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that his scuba diving was meant to “quickly cure the gash I suffered” in the March 15 battle with Juan Manuel Marquez as well as “strengthen my skin.” Pacquiao said “its true that Diaz is
strong and we cannot be overconfident. We have to train hard.” In fact he said he has been training since Last April 28 in General Santos City as well as the gym of close friend and confidant Rex “Wakee” Salud in Cebu and the Wild Card gym of former business manager Rod Nazario in BF Homes,Paranaque.

Pacquiao said he had “no problem moving up in weight (135 pounds) but can’t take him (Diaz) lightly because he is strong at 135 pounds and would not have become a world champion if he was not good.”

Asked about a possible unification bout because of the fact that IBF/WBA champion Nate Campbell and WBO Interim champion Joel Casamayor were eager to fight him, Pacquiao said “it all depends on the negotiations and the plans of my promoter Bob Arum after this fight.” However, Pacquiao emphasized “so far I am concentrating on my coming fight on June 28.”

Responding to what he perceived as criticism by some others Pacquiao said ”I just pray to God because He knows what kind of person I am and that I have not wronged anybody. Let the Lord take care.”

Now that I think about it, swimming in salt water would help heal a cut and strengthen the skin.. This is pretty smart and haven't seen anyone do this.. Maybe he does know what he's doin' and we should just stop doubting him..

Pac vs Hatton is very interesting! Lots of rewards both fame and fortune awaits...

Pac vs DLH. Intereting in the sense that he is DLH but come to think of it..DLH is over the hill. Yes, it would be an interesting resume for pac is he UPSETS DLH but I don't think REAL credit will be given to pac coz boxing fans knows that whoever pac beat at that time in reality is just a fraction of what DLH used to be!

More risk less credit in every sense of the word!

Regarding pac vs hatton.. i read that hatton is currently eyeing other opponents and too bad it appears pac is not the short list of the boxing opponents that hatton is looking at.

    Sorry I'm no doctor..

If It's 100% proven, tested and doctors would agree that it could help (swimming in salt water) by all means I'm 100% agreeing on what he is doing..

But if it's a hearsay only, not scientifically proven .. or worse recomended by the barrio " alburyo" expect the worse persformance of pac. Now is not the time to experiment..

Training both physical and mental will make or break your fight! At this stage I'm getting a little worried!

Besides..history is against pac on this fight! No Filipino boxer ever made it great at 135lbs.

Remember the legendary FLASH Elorde? Randy Suico?

I hope PAC breaks the jinx! The only way to AVOID this is to be SERIOUS and FOCUSED on his training! No MORE no LESS!

For sure I hope Pac breaks the jinx and of course I'm still gonna' worry.. Whether or not if swimming does help his cuts, he still needs to stay focus and forget politics and all else until he's not scheduled for a fight (which will be unlikely) or retired.. I just hope he knows what he's doing..

Pac-DLH is for Pac to make a crossover to the Mainstream Audience. Look how Trinidad, Bhop, Mosley & PBF boosted their popularity after the fight with DLH. Pac is already the Top attraction at 135 & Below in all boxing history. The way he can be more bigger Draw is to fight somebody who's more Popular or as Popular as him. Hatton, PBF & DLH only fit that description right now.

Hatton seems like Chickening out with Pac. Why Mallinaggi over Pac??? Where's the money there??? He looks like he's afraid to get KOed again. I will not be surprised if he fights Forbes after Mallinaggi.

Here's latest from a Pinoy in England. There's alot of Hype right now about Pac potential matchup with Khan or hatton in the UK.

Pac's busy with school & some civic activities. I haven't seen him in any Showbiz shows lately.

He's probably as big as he'll get. His best and most exciting fights are behind him, and he's not getting any younger, just heavier. He's is still bigger then 95% of other boxers.

Here's the link of Pac's latest Column. He said he was so skinny when he turned Pro at 16 that he has to put stones in his pocket so he can weigh the same as his opponent. Pac probably turned pro as 100 pounder.

" ---Pacquiao.

Man the sport of boxing is going to miss Pacquiao when he is gone. Most people don't appreciate him now...But when hes gone they're going to miss that little demon.

you're right. he seems to be more concerned about civic activities and other stuff that concerns the environment, giving back to the people. well i'm still confident that he is the 'same' fighter that we always loved, a true boxing 'demigod', a physical specimen of a great fighter, whose aggression compensates for his lack of boxing skills.

amsterdam, you're wrong. pacquiao is better than joe calzaghe.

Disagree. I had Pac losing his last fight. And because Joe won his convincingly that moves him up to P4P#2 on my list

Joe and Paq are on about an equal rung in my view. I favour Joe solely because I don't like the lighter weights, Middleweight and up for me represents "real men" and not just boys who starve themselves.
