Manny Pacquiao caps off his career with an absurd resume

A freaking flyweight who goes up and fights a #2 ranked prime welterweight at age 37 and knocks him down twice and outclasses him. It's unbelievable.

 

It probably would be a good idea if you actually checked both fighters resumes and compared them accurately and without bias. You can make a case for either fighter having the best resume.

 

Would never happen people look at Floyd's resume with a magnifying glass trying to find anything to complain about, Manny's is looked at through tents only see what you want.

It is a great resume even though he did lose some of those fights. And that resume is alot better than Floyds. But Oscar's is still better:

Ruelas (prime, undefeated)
Molina (prime, hadn't lost in 6 years)
Chavez x 2
Gonzalez (prime, undefeated)
Whitaker (ranked p4p#1 in the world)
Oba Carr (prime)
Quartey (prime, undefeated)
Trinidad (prime, undefeated)
Mosley x 2 (both 1 and 1 during prime)
Vargas (roided up)
Castellijo (MW champ, hadn't lost in 5-6 years)

Not to mention almost beating Prime Floyd when he was well past his best.

Now they are both ostensibly retired, we can make our final decisions on their respective careers.

H2H, Floyd was the bigger, rangier, and more skilled fighter. He held physical and stylistic advantages over the smaller Pacquaio, and H2H was the victor.

Overall, Pacquaio has the better resume, the bigger achievements, and overall the 'greater' career.

Floyd achieved some incredible things, but Pacquaio climbed 10(!!!) weight divisions and won championships and set records that will likely never be broken. I find it hard to overlook that in favour of a H2H loss against a bigger man when determining overall greatness.

Now they are both retired, I hope we can all appreciate what they did in a bi-partisan way :good:thumbsup

Delahoya was completely ineffective in his fight against Floyd. Not a punch he landed had any impact. Oscar also outweighed Floyd by about 25 pounds on fight night. Can't believe how many people remember that as an "almost win" for DLH

 

Like how Clottey, Cotto and such are considered great prime fighters that Manny beat, and that Marquez is quoted without any irony as being a good win for Manny, when reality is Manny lost 3, drew one out of their four if gifts weren't given.

You have to ignore everything about Pacquaio being defeated multiple times and being outclassed in their H2H battle to rank his career higher than FMJ.

Manny - Top 25.

 

The fight for me showed how small of a welter Floyd actually was, and a lot of people forget that Floyd basically was the same weight at the same age Pacquaio was, including being 122 at 16.

But yeah, as soon as ODLH went away from his jab in the fourth, Floyd took eight rounds off him.

 

The biggest fight was their own fight and Mayweather won it.

 

why was this fight not a world title fight?
