ARLINGTON, Texas -- Controversy erupted Saturday night before Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito even got in the ring.

A weight loss supplement was seen in Margarito's dressing room before the fight, and Pacquiao's team demanded that he be tested before the fight for possible banned substances. Texas officials, though, said the testing would be done after the fight as usual.

The weight loss supplement was reportedly Hydroxycut, sold over the counter.

Margarito struggled to lose the last few pounds this week to make the 150-pound contract weight for the fight.

He won the fight. It's a legal substance that can be purchased over the counter.

Case closed as far as I am concerned.

Its not clear that Margarito took that, but if he did, he must not have been aware that it was banned in Texas.
A camp member opened up the package in front of the HBO cameras and a Texas inspector for God's sake.......its not like team Margarito was hiding the fact they were taking it.

Not every boxing commision has a ban on such a substance because its not a performance enhancer......

I find it hillarious however that Freddie Roach wanted Margarito tested for it before he stepped into the ring because he said that stuff does'nt show after the rigors of a fight.:lol::lol:

......this after all the crap the Pac team made about testing windows and wanting only to have Pacquiao tested for PED use after the fight and not before.:rofl:rofl:rofl

Freddie sure does know what, when and where a positive test result will show, I wonder why????:-(

Hold up so Margo struggled to make 150? Ariza and Roach was right when he said he looked weight drained.

Nothing is illegal in Texas. You could bring a cow in the dressing room and drink some hormone enriched milk. They should have let Margarito have the full 154 limit anyway, and not **** with him like this.

btw, there are versions of hydroxycut without ephedra. so it might not matter at all.
