Manny Pacquiao downplays Arum criticism, says he's in 'self-rehab'

    Manny Pacquiao downplayed criticism from promoter Bob Arum on Monday after the injured Philippine boxing hero missed a doctor's visit for a shoulder injury, saying he was carrying out his own rehabilitation.

    Arum hit out at his own boxer last weekend for missing a rehab visit and said he has no idea when "Pacman" might fight again after his right shoulder was hurt fighting Floyd Mayweather in May.

    "I respect Bob Arum. He's just like a father to me. I believe he's just voicing out his concern (for) me and I appreciate it. I don't take it negatively," Pacquiao said in a statement.

    "But he has nothing to worry about (regarding) my injury. I'm doing the rehab myself. I'm recovering faster than expected."

    That's good news then, let's hope to see the Pacman fully fit and raring to go in 2016 vs Khan or someone.

    What kind of major surgery to fix a tear allow the possibility for the option of "doing the rehab (yourself)?" Especially when we are talking about a professional athlete seeking to return to competition.

    To say this is puzzling and further not a good look might be an understatement, actually.

    Wait wait wait hold on how can he recovering faster then expected if he torn his right shoulder twice which one was two weeks before the fight and 2 it was doing the fight that got worse??? You pac fans are the biggest re****s in history. If doesnt prove pac was never seriously injured i'll never watch boxing again.

    Don't let these crazy fans influence you. Let's keep it real. It really doesn't matter if the injury was legit or not. It doesn't. Because at the end of the day, Pacman lost. Mayweather won. 48-0-0. That's it. That's all. All of this MayPac bullstink that's constantly being posted on this forum is just inconsequential noise.

    he had his shoulder scoped this was not invasive surgery it is no big deal. This was not some debilitating injury it is an injury that many athletes in other sports put off until the end of the season and play through it.

    What u trying to say? Pac had torn his shoulder twice in 2 weeks before the fight and doing the fight but yet it's recovering fast??? :lol::lol::lol:
