Manny Pacquiao Finds Himself in Heap of Financial Trouble
By Matt Faulconer (Featured Columnist) on October 15, 2011

It sounds like the star boxer needs to pick up another fight in order to pay his off his debt.

According to TMZ, Pacquiao is reportedly $649,016.95 in debt to his accountants. That's right; he owes money to the people who are managing his finances. Usually accountants are stealing money from their clients, not the other way around.

Rumor has it that Pacquiao sucks at paying his taxes, and had to call in some accountants to help him get everything corrected. Here is what TMZ had to say about the situation,

According to the suit, Manny's tax issues "seriously affected [his] ability to fight."

The accountants claim they straightened out his money problems—and even let Pacquiao borrow some cash—but Manny never paid them back and totally ignored the bill.

TMZ explains that they got everything straightened out, but Pacquiao had to borrow money from the accountants. He then decided that he wasn't going to pay the accountants back, so they have filed a lawsuit.

This is absolutely uncalled for from someone like Pacquiao. He is the golden boy of boxing; he always acts like the good guy, while both the media and the fans make Floyd Mayweather out to be the villain.

Nobody is perfect, but if Pacquiao is borrowing that type of money, he had better find the funds to pay it off, even if that means fighting Mayweather under Money's terms.

The payday would be enormous, and Manny would have no problem repaying his debt back to his accountants. It's obvious that Pacquiao isn't exactly the best at handling his expenses, so he shouldn't be burning bridges with the accountants who helped him turn this situation around.

Looks like Pacquiao might be making a few court appearances in the upcoming months. He's not so different from Mayweather after all.

On the bright side for Pacquiao fans, at least he still looks good in the ring.

    Isnt the debt to VisionQuest?

Anyway the article is a little misleading as they are suing him for the money.

In any case it would appear he does have some financial problems.

Hes borderline special education. Been fighting in the USA for 10 years still cant speak english/ Wife speaks english perfectly.

Didnt finish high school, they made him a politician. Boy is seriously dumb. No surprise he is in financial trouble. Floyd lives lavishly so its expected. Pacquiao lives in a third world country where 1 dollar is like 10.

No doubt the man could probably not count to 100 if asked.

didn't Pac buy a 10 million dollar home in the Philippines like 2 months ago? You expect us to believe he can't afford 500 grand.

obviously visionquest is pissed off cause Pac doesn't wanna pay em, probably cause their services suck.

He's ******ed and arum knows it. Thats why Arum can basically play this dude anyway he wants.

Floyd Mayweather make some head scratching decisions. But this is America. There are bad influences, and blowing money in this country is the norm because there is just so much.

The phillipines is a third world country, where Pacquiao is god. How is he broke? What could he possibly be blowing his money on?

The Philippines was a third world country. It's a Newly Industrialized Country for almost a decade now, the same status Taiwan and South Korea had in the 1980s.

He spent $20 million on to run 2 political campaigns before he got elected on his 2nd try.

He spent a million on the province he represents so they can build their first true hospital.

He's got a game show where he gives his own money to the poor.

He's known to gamble some big amounts from time to time.
