Everything written is totally believable as Pacquiao has always entered into contracts and made business decisions without regard to consequence.

Pacquiao's even into filing frivolous lawsuits, go figure.
Serves him right to be the financial situation he's in now.

That is what is called Newly Industrialized Country, a country that is no longer developing (3rd world) but have not yet reached First World status.

The current list of NIC countries (or 2nd world):

South Africa, Mexico, Brazil, China, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Turkey

    This -

I seriously think that manny has been used and abused at every turn since he landed in the US , to be broke while being the current p4p number 1 fighter in the world in this day and age is just a tragic case of a naive and poorly educated man being taken advantage of by those meant to be protecting his best interests -

I bet theres some very happy new millionaires walking around on the Phillipino political scene these days as well.

The phillipines is rated below Gabon, suriname, Thailand, Dominican Republic, Jaimaca, Georgia, Libya, Bosnia, Iran, in human development. Only 3 or 4 spots ahead of Mongolia.

    Pacquiao buys hotel for P1B
Posted by Online on Oct 7th, 2011 // 17 Comments

Manila, Philippines – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is monitoring confidential reports that boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee now owns a hotel in Manila.
Informed sources said the hotel is located near the US Embassy on Roxas Boulevard in Manila.
The Pacquiaos reportedly purchased the hotel for P1 billion.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao paid the government more than P29.1 million in capital gains and documentary stamp taxes for buying a house and lot at the posh Forbes Park subdivision in Makati City, it was learned yesterday.
Makati Revenue Regional Director Nestor Valeroso disclosed that the amount Pacquiao paid represents the six percent capital gains tax and 1.5 percent documentary stamp tax on the property he acquired in the Philippines’ most famous enclave of the rich.
Valeroso said the transfer taxes were supposed to be paid by the seller of the 2,000-square meter lot but the congressman from Sarangani opted to shoulder the tax liabilities of the vendor, identified only as a certain “Mr. Chua.” (Jun Ramirez)

    and a house...

FILIPINO boxing champion and Saranggani District Representative is building a new mansion-- this time at the posh Forbes Park in Makati City where the nation's old rich thrive.

Insiders informed Mr Blind Item that the world's greatest boxer today is paying for the renovations of an extravagant Forbes Park home at #32 Cambridge Street in North Forbes Park. The real estate value of a typical Forbes Park home fetches at P500 million to P1billion.
