Some of Manny Pacquiao's detractors have been right in saying that Manny Pacquiao has been cherry picking his opponents recently. He has been cherry picking fighters that were supposed to either beat him in dominating fashion, or in the case of Ricky Hatton, pose significant enough threats at a division unknown to him. You have to give Manny props for that.

If Manny Pacquiao continues this pattern, would you expect him to fight Miguel Cotto or Shane Mosley? I give him a 60/40 chance against Cotto, but something like 70/30 against Mosley.

It makes no sense for Pacquiao to fight any other fight than a super fight. He can only find that up at 147lb, in my opinion.

Its not that Manny is cherrypicking. Arum cherrypicked to fight the best whom are big names yet a threat to him.

Pacquiao has the quality to take out most of the threat so Arum can move his other fighters into a big fight.

It's hard to explain but there is business behind it, and business means money.

I disagree, a super fight could still be made with JMM at 140.

Juan Manuel Marquez is currently tied with his upcoming bout against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Right now, without taking a stay busy fight to wait out for the winner of those two, do you believe Pacquiao's best option would be to try and take on the top guys at 147lb. I used to be of the opinion that these are unwinable fights, but I feel Manny has proved that he can compete with world class talent at 140lb and above by sparking out Hatton this weekend.

i disagree... pacs life doesnt revolve around jmm. unless you are a jmm fan who feels bitterness that jmm kissed the canvass 4 times and lost once (should be twice if not for the judge scoring error)... pac is moving on. pac gave him a chance. what he did was he kissed the canvass 4 times.. you dont win close fights that way :lol::lol::good:good

    Shane Mosley.

The naturally bigger guy, very comparable hand speed, superior power in both hands, and who took Cotto's, Oscar's, and Mayorga's best shots.

It would take a gigantic effort, in my estimation, for Manny to pull off the win. But his legacy is secure, he will go down as one of the greatest fighters of the last 30 years no matter what happens from now on. Does he take the gamble?

No kidding. It is amazing if he gets all these fighters that his least dangerous opposition would have been Hatton. I still cannot for the life of me believe that a Cotto vs. Pacquiao or a Mosley vs. Pacquiao fight is being discussed... its just insane!

Mosley is the most biggest threat to Pacquiao at 147. That's why Roach would only take Mosley if the catchweight would be on 144 as he stated on some video.
Pac camp has the terms atm, so we can't complain on that. But Roach knows to get the title at 147 they should meet him at 147 which is in the rules.
For this fight selfkill is right. It favors Mosley a lot than Pacquiao. But if Pac could pull this off, hats off to that.
