Manny Pacquiao Has Reached Muhammad Ali Status: PAC GREATEST OF ALL TIME ?

    I agree with you. I think with Ali, well, there's just so many amazing facets to his life beyond his speaking abilities that are attractive to people. And Tyson, whom I think is actually very articulate for a largely uneducated (academically) guy has that attraction too, although with different reasons to Ali's.

    Pac has that backstory and attraction but I think he's just too nice a guy. Ali and Tyson had more edgy characters - nice mostly but underlying meaness in character as well. People like a bit of edge and darkness of character - flaws, if you will - to their idols. Makes them more human. Pac is just a nice guy. Nothing wrong with that but being saintly all the time doesn't appeal to most people. I think it's that yin and yang with Pac that makes him so watchable as he fights but largely 'boring' outside of it - see some of his 24/7s as examples.

    right now NO

    If he beats Floyd who is commonly rated as a 30 - 40 ATG and some Pac fans have him outside of the top 50 and Martinez who surely isn't top 50 does not get him in the top 5 or even considered for GOAT. Right now i think its fair to have him from 20-25....he beats these two and he can easily jump in to the 10 - 15 range.

    Pac is just inside my top 25.. def top 30... he is not nor has the resume to be top ten...:patsch:patsch all you who think that he is top ten must be:rasta

    For me to say Pac is the greatest of alltime.. greater than Sugar Ray Robinson.... he'd have to knock out Martinez and Paul Williams and Mayweather.. the only threats I see for him from 160 and below.. if he beat all three.. he'd make my top three alltime.. (SRR, Ali.. he'd go ahead of Joe Louis).. that's if he were to beat all three while they are in their prime.. that would undeniably prove to me he isn't just hype and he truly is unbeatable since his last loss... he's is great.. but not greatest of alltime.. not even top ten.. whether it SEEMS he has the talent or not


    For the record.. Mayweather is in my top 40-50 alltime.. Martinez not in there yet... Hopkins top 25.. RJJ top 20... DLH top 40
