Here's my view on the points you made.

A) He might have made it up, I'm not a biblical historian nor am I interested in religious virtues or quotes for that matter. Still it's an obvious humble act where he's clearly stating that he would rather not oversee the future while forgetting there's a God up there(or somewhere for that matter) who obviously knows it all before us mere mortals.

B) I don't think he's acting like Jesus considering he brings up God and Jesus before his self almost every time. With the amount of support he has, he's obviously encouraging his religious beliefs upon his people/fans. Only he would know being in that serious position where he's followed, supported, idolized, admired and almost "worshipped" by millions all over the world. He surely doesn't force people to follow him the way they do, but people do regardless. He's obviously trying to have a positive affect on people, nothing else.

C) Of course he has to mention God, he's clearly religious and ALL religious people do that, not just Pacquiao. The only reason he's being questions is because he's probably one of very few highly successful and popular boxers to be deeply religious and open about it.

I don't think it's bizarre behavior. It's only bizarre to you or me because we're the opposite, we could be as bizarre to any religious person for being the opposite. If you interacted with as many religious people as I have you would know it's very typical and normal regardless of religion. They can be as obsessive as annoying the hell out of you when you light a cigarette or encouraging you to join them in Church or a Mosque for that matter. Even having normal conversations can seem weird, it could feel like you're talking to your mother or father and can't feel comfortable.

Hate the long-ass response but had to share my opinion. It's only my opinion, doesn't mean it's true of course.

These born-again christians tend do overdo things.

 

What a ****ing nutjob he's turned into. He was likeable back in 07/08. Needs to chillout with that religious ****.

 

But what context is that verse written in? What exactly is it referring to when saying: "Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams". I'm not an expert on the Bible, but I don't think you can take an isolated verse like that and assume the Bible is ok with people foretelling the future. Especially when in other areas it openly condemns attempts of scorcery - something which fortune-telling is a form of.

So really, what Manny has said isn't entirely wrong.

But yeah, I agree, his new-found religious stuff is quite funny . I gotta' check these 24-7 episodes out.

I can't believe how evangelical he s gotten.

That can feed a deluSion if you have that many people following you.

It's just that I'm a Muslim and I share similar beliefs to Christians, and so I can understand why Manny said what he did.

And yeah, I reall hope he doesn't do a Michael Grant in a couple of weeks time - saying "God bless" to Lennox when touching gloves and then getting KTFO 5 minutes later . There's a hilarious video of it on YouTube but I'm on my phone.

 

The thing is he s got too many people in his ear. From politics, boxing, and now the catholic church is using his fame to spread the word.


It's a double edged sword. I'm not jealous at what he s doing but if I were a countryman, i wouldnt even vote for him.having someone too deeply rooted in religion in politics can be a bad thing.

In boxing, if it keeps you focused, more power to him or people like Andre ward or Tim Bradley.

At some point he s going to have to choose between being a politician and a religious ambassador down the line.

I honestly think he d be a decent pope. He should go for that instead of pres of the Philippines.

 

Gambling is a go. It's not a sin in the bible. Chasing money is however.


Remember, apostles threw lots for the next apostle to fill in for judas.

You can predict what you want but don't predict the end of the world or any of that nonsense. Even Jesus doesn't know the answer. Must be a fail safe from his dad.
