Manny Pacquiao is invading the world of rap music, as some of the newer rap tunes by big time artists include the popular boxer's name in their songs. Paquiao, who embarked on a singing career of his own, is doing well with selling his single "Sometimes When We Touch." The 8-division boxing champion is everywhere and anything he sets out to do is a success. Not many hold a résumé like his, a congressman, boxing's only 8 division title holder in history and now his singing career is taking off, it is no wonder why Jay Z and other rappers have coined a few tunes with the name Pacquiao in the lyrics. Pacquiao is one of the true stories about coming from very little and fighting his way up to greatness and in his case, beyond. Yes, greatness, you just don't get any better than this in the ring. He is an idol to many, and it sounds like Jay Z is one of those that hold Pacquiao to the highest esteem. Jay Z is not the only rapper to rap about the Pacman. In the new collaboration of Eminem and Bruno Mars, rapper Royce da 5'9 compared himself to Pacquiao, again he did this as someone to look up to. He says Pacquiao is always ready to face life's challenges, according to ABS-CBN News. Rapper Rick Ross, said the song "Pacman" came from the similarities between his life and Pacquiao's life. Both came from very meager beginnings and both had mothers who worked hard to keep the family going. Ultimately, both went on to great success in their chosen careers. It looks like Pacquiao is everybody's hero and the proof is in the rapping! Manny Pacquiao is amazing and along with all that fame, his head never got too big to remember his simple beginnings. He also has a kind heart and when a fight ends where Pacquiao has emulsified his opponent, Pacquiao's pride doesn't stop him from showing concern about his opponent's condition. It is not hard to understand why the world of rap would welcome Pacquiao as a hero and immortalize him in their songs.
A large portion of Rappers are boxing fans. I've even heard Kosta Tszyu mentioned in Rap songs. I think it was a Wu Tang song. Cant remember it though.
lol.... who cares otherhand, this could be made into a big deal between the *******s & *****s "Obviously, Manny is 1-upping Mayweather in his hip-hop culture. Now who's the legit G!?!??!" hahahaha
Haha they talking about the song off Blueprint 3? From 2009? That's news! As someone said rappers are usually Boxing fans, Jay-Z mentions Mayweather on Light Up with Drake. Lil Wayne mentions Larry Holmes.
just cause someones name gets mentioned on the track it doesn't mean the rapper is 'rapping about them' or Pacman is their idol or some ****.... JayZ has also mentioned Charles Manson and Ted Bundy in his rhymes (because their names rhyme) does this make them his idol?!? dumb!! I can respect the mans fighting skills but people search for too many other reasons to jump on his dick
Pac has more street cred than Floyd. Floyd's hip hop highlight was getting his boys beat down by J Prince's henchman.
