  3. Except for choosing Pacquiao, you have a point there, I myself have collected tapes of Ray Robinson and is responsible of posting most of them in youtube. Damn, their gloves were so small man and they hit each other a thousand times. Ray Robinson mostly focused on his upper-body strength, pins his opponent on the ropes and it becomes a battle of attrition/stamina not so-much slipping unlike today's boxers like Floyd. They did not emphasize footwork, hence your terminology "flat footedness".

It's a battle of science, nutrition, etc. The sweet science of today of course beats the sweet science of the yesteryears.

I get your drift. The great Carl Lewis can never out-run today's Usain Bolt, even in his prime, and go further in time and imagine Jesse Owens facing Usain? Science has improved so much. :hat

Wait till he is retired before you mention GOAT. Best of this era, I agree but you obviously have no idea what greats have existed in history if you are already putting Pac above them.

Why? Did you think Ali from heavy weight should come down classes just to have eight diffrent weight classes? Not that Ali is #1.

Yes like John McEnroe facing Roger Federer in his Prime? It will be a massacre if you know the sport as tennis has improved a lot. This was why they made the ball fluffiness added during Sampras' time because the human body improved so much. So it is silly to compare :blood

Greatness out of the ring is another. Having titles now which weren't available then is another factor, etc, etc so I'd say they were all great. :good

I never said he was the GOAT. It's just disgusting to hear that it's still a silly thought to mention Pac's name along with names mentioned above. The same can be said with Robinson. Could he have handily beaten Leonard/Duran/Hagler/Hearns? It's not silly to think he may lose to one of them, right? Didn't stop him from being the GOAT, even though his winning % is lower than all those guys mentioned.

Ali's greatness wasn't measured in the number of weight classes he won. But Hank Armstrong's greatness was. Armstrong has titles in 3 of the original 8 weight divisions. Pac has titles in 4 of the original 8 weight divisions and could make it 5 should he go for a middleweight belt.

Armstrong outworked and outpointed his bigger opponents. Pac sends his bigger opponents to the hospital, while he sings at post fight parties.

Yet, here on ESB, it's still silly to mention Pac's name along with the very best.

Bill Gallo at 90 years old witnessed the all time greats with his own eyes and watched more fights of them than there are youtube videos. He says Pac is one of the best he's ever seen. According to some on ESB, he's a silly old man.
