    This is just so annoying.

He's beating guys who wouldn't make a top 500 ATG list. Maybe not even a top 700.

I don't know why I'm even bother debating boxing, with fans who just like watching brawls.

Seriously. A lot of Manny's "victims" have been beaten much more easily by other fighters.

    That tells you everything

Man, this just an example of the extreme bias. And why this really aint worth debating with paqcuiao fans.

Taking on a guy who has already been destroyed by a 38 year old Mosely, is a pretty good example of a hand pick.

Aint no honour in that. Most pointless fight ever,

This is what I don't get about boxing fans. Well, Pacquiao fans to be fair.

Shane destroys Margarito much more easily. At 38, coming off a very near loss to a plain Grade C fighter. Shane nearly lost a fight directly before schooling margarito

And in your mind, Pacquiao beating him, arguably in a more competitive fight, elevates him in your mind?

This is the type of fight Floyd got murdered for taking when he was PFP 1

Quite hilarious, that he was actually accused of hand picking De la Hoya at 154?

As in, the number 2 guy ranked there, who'd been dominating in the divison for years, and who was a current WBC champion!

If you honestly believe this is true, then you just don't read much about boxing.

I'm afraid it's more "he's famous, and I like him, so he's great"

    Nothing to do with boxing

    Stop talking such rubbish please.

Impact and "icon" mean freaking nothing.

Duran is in most people's top 10, as he's arguably fought four of the top 30 greatest fighters of all time, at their best weights, at their peaks. Moving up in divisions to face them all.

What's more his career win is probably beating the best Welterweight of all time, at his peak, at his best weight, when he was 30+

As well as going 72-1 in one of the hardest divisions of all time for a decade.

Manny hasn't even faced an opponent who you could put in a top 75 of all time. Let alone beat them.

Man, I remember all of this talk when Tyson was about. Greatest heavyweight ever, as he had a ton of fans, who only have casual interests in the sport.

Every guy has their day in the sun, where everyone loves them, talks them up, and is telling you how great they are.

Sorry to break the news to you.

Sugar Ray Leonard rarely ever breaks any top 10. Sometimes not even top 15.

And there isn't any argument to rank Pacquiao ahead of Leonard. It's not even competitive.

Leonard beat a peak Duran, Hagler and Hearns, over mutliple divisions. Maybe 3 of the top 40 fighters of all time? At their peaks

What does Manny have to compare to that. His best ever opponent is probably Marquez. Who's been beaten multiple times by other opponents. And wouldn't make any all time top 100.

Sorry. It's excited fans trying to put Manny where they want him to be. Not where he will go on his resume.

Most guys in the top 20 (let alone the top 10) have not only beaten the other dominant fighter of their era, but they've done it a few times.

Would anyone even put manny as favourite with mayweather?

Would anyone even rank Manny ahead of Marquez at 130?

There's no argument that Manny is even the dominant fighter of his era. Let alone one of the 20 best ever. He'd be an underdog with mayweather.

You know, let's go to Ezzard Charles as an example.

A guy who beat a peak Joe Louis, and a peak Joe Walcott in his career, and who beat 7 hall of fame opponents.

Or Harry Greb who had a 299-19 record, and who beat probably 2-3 of the best 50 fighters of all time, and faced 9 HOF opponents?

Sorry. This is why he'll never get in any list like this.

His career best opponent wouldn't make it in any top 100 all time. Most of the guys in the top 20 have faced 4-5 guys in the top 50.
