Margarito Fight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQd47fCr97g JMM-Pac 4 Fight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DqgNxdo1FI Please actually analyse him. Also realise that JMM has Pac's number, so Pac is going to be more cautious, less free. But when it comes to Pac's commitment, there's no difference in speed, power etc. any aspect of his game. He had two 'not-so-impressive' performances against Mosley and Bradley, fights which never posed any threat to him anyway. This doesn't mean he was past his prime. Off-nights do not mean 'past prime'. He was only past prime in the way of not being motivated as he used to, but for the Marquez 4 fight, he had every bit of motivation and it showed. People buy into the bull**** that a lot of posters are saying just because of two relatively off performances, one being because he had cramping problems with his calves because they're huge. NOW Pac is most probably past his prime as fighters don't usually recover from a KO like that, it's not even a brutal KO, it's a shockingly brutal KO.
Pacquiao was deteriorating slowly from the Margarito bout onwards. He took a fair bit of punishment in that bout from a much bigger man, something that cannot simply be ignored, especially if you have ever boxed/sparred with a much bigger person. Pacquiao was slower in the 4th Marquez bout and he wasn't as explosive. Saying that, he did look hungry and motivated. I was very impressed by his movement, he seemed to glide (not bounce) around the ring at times, catching Marquez with punches from unseen angles using very impressive body movement and feints. When he had Marquez hurt he started exploding in (a lot of the time recklessly) and this led to himself getting caught and missing with shots wildly. But yeah, Pacquiao from Margarito and Marquez 4 were not the same. Like I said, Pacquiao was deteriorating slowly from the Margarito bout, and it was pretty clear to see. Not to take away from Marquez's victory.
Didn't marquez say pacquiao deteriorated a bit when he watched the fight? I'm sure he had a reason for saying that. Personally I thought so too but not by much.
Pacquiao is a part time boxer, his skills were diminishing in every fight since the Cotto fight. he looked like **** against Mosley, totally uncoordinated and off-balance, it showed in the Marquez fight. Had Marquez fought Pacquiao in 2009/2010, i think it would be a different story (but a hard fight, nonetheless).
After the 3rd round Margo only had one eye. Otherwise it would have been a different fight. PAC still couldn't put him away.
