Did have a Good Chin.....but age catches up with every Fighter...and the Chin is the first thing that seems to go....maybe because of slowing reflexes and speed makes the chin very vulnerable.....the same will happen To Golovkin who many as I do believe has a granite chin...if he keeps fighting past His use by date his Chin will get shattered.!!!!
The truth is it takes an ATG warrior to KTFO Pacquiao. The list include. Morales if he was healthy. Marquez Barrera. Not included on this list is VOID jr. Sorry! pussay ass using the grand rapids style of street fight. Running and Hugging all night.
A perfect shot can KO anyone. Very few fighters in history could have stood up to the punch that Hearns KO'd Duran with. Being KO'd by that type of punch does not necessarily mean that you have a glass chin. The Punch JMM KO'd Pac with was a perfect punch and I don't hold it against Pac.
The problem I'm having is the talk of Pac having a granite chin, or a great chin. That's obviously not the case or should be obvious to anybody reasonable. I know this is a pac worship thread but there's no excuse.
Do you really believe that? Do you really believe a boxer with a granite chin can withstand that punch? What about guys known to have had granite chins yet was knocked out? Basillio? Fullmer?
I think his chin was good, but I think don't think it was ever of the granite variety. * Certainly not at flyweight, where he was wiped out by Medgoen and Torrecampo. * Dropped hard by Nedal Hussein at Super Bantam. * Flashed by the unheralded Serizkhan at featherweight * Wobbled by JMM in their first two fights * Rocked a couple of times by Bradley * Hurt to the body by Cotto, Margarito, and Ledwaba * And, KTFO 6. He could either avoid getting hurt by doing damage first, or eventually by adding layers of defense to his game...But he was always vulnerable to some sort of peril at any point in his career so referring to the chin as granite seems a bit much.
