Manny Pacquiao Post Fight Interview: Could someone translate?

Rest of the world: Mayweather won easily.

 

Skip Bayless has no real opinion though. He's just one side of the trolling done by ESPN. I hardly think pacs wife is an objective opinion.

 

There are tons of idiots who thought Pac won (on FB/Twitter/Reddit)

Lomachenko and Mosley also thought Pac won. Obviously I don't agree but its kinda weird seeing at least some boxers giving it to Manny. But going back to the early rounds. Robert Garcia, who said he had it 9-3 for Floyd, did admit that after going back...he thought Pac may have won one of the early rounds.

I haven't gone back to rewatch the fight yet, but from what i've been hearing...there appears to be a disagreement on rounds 2 and 3. Some people think Pac won 2, but not 3. Others think Pac won 3, but not 2. Harold Lederman did give round 2 to Pac.

Bottom line is Pac definitely won rounds 4 and 6. And if you gave him either 2 or 3...then it would be 3-3 going into the 7th. Giving him round 5 however is completely idiotic, and giving him both 2-3 is being bias (at most you can only give him one from what i've been hearing).

Floyd swept the first 3 without a doubt.

I've rewatched it twice, there's no way in hell he won any rounds in the first 3

The judges ALL HAD IT 30-27 as well.

The only round that should be up for question is the 7th.

 

I'm not saying your right or wrong, but its interesting seeing the sheer amount of contradiction i've been hearing people say. I need to rewatch that fight as soon as I can.

People tend to agree Pac won rounds 4 and 6, and they typically give him one (at most 2, being extra generous) more. However what that extra 3rd round is I'm hearing disagreement. You say round 7 was up for question, which indeed i've also heard people say. But again others have said 2 and 3 are up for question. And in my personal opinion, from what I remember of the fight, it was a late round......9 or 10:huh.......that I thought was up for question.

 

He won because he was the aggressor, as in coming forward. Pacquiao was chasing him.

 

2 and 3 are not up for discussion, only Pac****s give Pacquiao one of those rounds.

4 and 6 are the only clear Pacquiao rounds, 7th I can concede too but it's really not clear, at all.

 

Exactly, although I scored the first 3 for Mayweather, I think the second in particular was close.

 

I get that you are a huge Floyd fan but "one sided" is not a fair way to describe those rounds.
They were both feeling each other so naturally all of us who followed Floyd's career and style would give those rounds to Floyd not on account of it being one sided but because we will think that Floyd is the one imposing his game on Manny.
Place a neutral judge who has never seen nor heard of both Manny's and Floyd's boxing styles and those rounds can go either way.

On the flip side, for us children of the sport, we all saw how tentative Floyd was.
I mean sh%t. Maidana should've been a bigger puncher than Pacquiao but FMJ was waaaay more aggressive and calm against Maidana since the opening bell vs Pacquiao, that it took him 10 rounds before finally walking Pacquiao down (which should've been his strategy from the beginning).
And damn, did you see how wobbly he got when Pac connected that perfectly parried, outside food placed and countered left jab of FMJ in rounds 4?

See that? He saw it coming but he can't react to it.
THAT is why Mayweather was too tentative.
He knows Pac's speed can trouble him. He knows Pac can counter him. He knows that although he can take the punches, a carefully placed counter left or right hook can make him touch the canvas.

And again, before you go apesh%t, I scored the fight 8-4 to Floyd, being VERY generous to Manny.

Although round 1 is a clear FMJ round, rounds 2-3 are swing rounds for somebody impartial.
Round 4 is a clear Pac round.
