It's not a popularity contest. The question is who is more influential?

Influential - having power over the minds or behavior of others in light of the effect that they have had.

If you want to get technical then obviously Pac has much more influence over people since he is a congressman, the best Oscar did was donate to some schools.

Pac is also already higher ranked all time, not debatable.

Again people. The article is about a person's influence towards the sport of boxing. I am beginning to think that half the people commenting didn't even read the article.

I think if Mayweather-Pac happens then Pac will have surpassed Oscar's influence over the sport. Oscar is mostly up there because of his drawing power, but you could argue that 'influence' is better measured through sporting legacy rather then just the business aspect.

Wow Pacman fever! I do think Pac does and will always rate higher than Oscar in Atg status as a boxer. But in overall influence towards the sport of boxing Oscar is above and beyond Pacman. Hands down!

Pac is the better boxer but Oscar was more influential.

i'm a little biased but i'm going with Pacman. How many mother****ers are in a boxing gym right now in the philippines because of the Pacman?

Its not about how much money was made but who's impact was greater on the sport and on people's lives.

Look at the big picture. there isn't a LOT going on in the Philippines. No jobs, all poverty. But Pac gives these guys hope..at least for 36 minutes that they can dream when he puts it all out.

Oscar lost it when he started wearing fish nets and partnering with Schaefer. There was just too much lying going on. He just lost his credibility.

Yes, Oscar is more popular but more influential - defined as someone who people will look up to? I will say Pac surpassed him already.

Dude this is not to discredit ODLH too!

If PAC and ODLH will go to a mall, boxing gym, hotel in Vegars or simply walk down in the streets of LA who would the crowd follow or get his autograph or have himself photo taken?!??!

If you are talking 6 or 8 yrs ago, ODLH hands down! But we are in the NEW ERA.we are talking of yr 2010...

Obviously it's PAC right now. Changing of the guards in other words..

BOTH INFLUENCE AND POPULARITY Pac wins over ODLH during this time. 6 YRS or 8 yrs ago. ODLH no dought!

If you looked back at what i wrote it was in response to a poster who said he would have pac at number 1 as he has the most fans. I shut that theory down completely.

And to be honest, if you have way more fans than someone else it's more than likely you gonna be influential to that worldwide audience.

We cant determine what is influential or not.

Wow your post tells one PAC-hater that because of your hatred towards him, you even put down boxing as a sport instead of lifting it up. It's funny you post right next to KARCENO's name, :yep....... ALT ALERT! :hey
