i'm not twisting things, there are large contengency of pacman doubters in all 3 of his last fights.....

its safe to assume he will also improve against cotto....

and did cotto look spectacular against clottey?....i think cotto has less then a 30% chance....because pacman is better then clottey.

I don't remember a large contingency of Pac doubters ahead of the Diaz fight, we knew this was a hand picked stepping stone.
Pacman is better than Clottey but not as big, you can't discount size. I give Cotto a 40% chance, I just don't think he is a complete fighter at the highest level with his cautiousness and seemingly relitively low ring smarts.

fighting cotto at 144-147 cannot be compared to fighting diaz, dlh, and hatton. diaz isnt really that special, dlh was far from both his prime years and his optimum weight, and hatton was already knocked out before.

cotto on the other hand was also knocked out by margarito but you can put an asterisk in there because margo could have had padded gloves. pac-cotto is not a mismatch by any means. those who say one will kill the other are high.

Not really because it seems to have taken a lot out of him, physically and mentally, whichever way it happened. So I don't think the situation is vastly different to the De La Hoya and Hatton fights But this Version of Cotto is still a much better 147 pound fighter.

i just hope pac will get credit for beating cotto. it seems like everytime he wins the excuses flow. people need to be consistant with their predictions or give him his credit.

Do you have a .gif or a youtube link of Pac getting "rocked" by Marquez? I must have missed that. I know WWF/WWE has what they call Dark Matches that happen and never make it to TV, does boxing do that as well? I never saw Manny getting ROCKED by JMM. Tagged cleanly, sharply struck, firmly pressed perhaps. But rocked?

thats the way i feel too......like people thought hatton would do at least better then oscar....and now hatton is shot...WTF?

you watch, if cotto gets brutally destroyed in similar fashion like diaz, oscar, and hatton....will say hes shot too? WTF!....

I will admit i think cotto and hatton have lost something, but that doesnt mean there both shot

Clottey is a difficult fighter. So Cotto only had trouble cause his confidence was taken from him by Margarito? And you know this how. Clottey is not a walk in the park. The cut is something real that we can see, that we can say impacted the fight somewhat.

People did pick Diaz over Pacman because no other former great featherweight champion other than Henry Armstrong was able to win a lightweight title. There is like some imaginary line between featherweight and lightweight thats impossible to cross, many past great featherweights have tried and almost all fail. Armstrong,Pac and Marquez are the exception.

I would actually favour Pacquiao in this match up. Too many people are simply using Cotto's advantages in size, power and strength as the reasoning behind their choice of victor in this fight. Fighters like Pac, Toney, Holyfield, Hopkins and Mayweather have shown in recent years that size matters little if you have the superior skills and speed to outbox a naturally bigger opponent.

Size is only a factor if you can impose it upon your opponent. Pac has shown improvement with each performance and while Cotto will be his toughest opponent since Marquez I see Pac simply being too quick and running circles round Cotto.
