I'll agree with that much! The whole P4P ranking is stupid. It's like saying who the best rock guitarist is. Just some meaningless nonsense for a bunch of wankers to argue over on some forum. - And deep down, you know it's true.
may's activity is pathetic, he shouldn't even be number 2. Pacman is rightly placed at the top spot like it or not, he should remain there too. The only way for Floyd to regain #1 p4p in my opinion is to fight pac and beat him, but I don't see that happening as does Floyd, hence why he is ducking him, and will continue to duck him. To Mayweather his '0' is everything, what a fool.
knocking out an expected less talented underdog in that fashion will improve your ranking? I'll make a note.
A correct decision from Ring Magazine. People talk about Cotto and Clottey coming off losses but fail to mention that they were top 3 in their division and met each other. Clottey had an extremely close fight with Cotto and had beaten Judah so he must be seen as a better opponent than Ortiz, who is new to the division having only beat Berto in albeit impressive fashion. Needless to say Cotto is much better than Ortiz. The division has become weaker now because no way Ortiz is better (perhaps even with Clottey h2h) and no way has he done more than Cotto or Clottey. "Young hungry lion" and all that talk is good but experienced contenders count for more. The Cotto win is one of the top wins of the whole decade - it's gotten underrated - and Clottey was helplessly outclassed. Pac is significantly smaller than his opponents and has come up a lot in weight. That is THE most important factor in ranking him ahead of Floyd. No, he's no the "tiny little guy everybody makes him out to be but he still is a natural JWW who not long ago was fighting at Super feather weight. His feats will be seen as legendary and it's still not that long since he did this. Now, I know, p4p is about recent accomplishments and he could have chosen better than Margo and Mosley. Yes, he outclassed them and they were still moderately able but they were coming off two bad performances respectively. They Mosley win, despite the lay-off, is excellent for Maywether and Ortiz is a good - nothing more, nothing less - opponent. JMM was forced to go up a step too far for me to rate that win even thogh I strangely think JMM would be able to compete there against the lower ten. He is that good. Mayweather has had too long lay-offs and hasn't even beaten better opponents. They've looked head and shoulders above the others as usual, so nothing really separates the two of them there either. Mayweather beats him and beats him good IMO but that's speculation on my part. Since this is mostly about recent accomplishments for me, I even rank Martinez above Floyd. Martinez' win streak is terrific and beats Mayweather's in quality. Ko'ing Williams and taking the MW crown despite being undersized is better than taking #1 position i WW by beating Mosley and not much more. The argument against placing Martinez at #2 is that Floyd's been looking much better than Sergio, so they could be interchangeable.
