LAS VEGAS -- Manny Pacquiao's defamation lawsuit against longtime boxing rival Floyd Mayweather Jr. and others rests on firm allegations and can continue, a Nevada federal judge said in a court order Monday that denied a motion to dismiss the case.
U.S. District Judge Larry Hicks said Pacquiao has sufficient evidence to continue his lawsuit that alleges Mayweather and others acted with malice by accusing the Filipino boxer in a series of interviews of using performance-enhancing drugs.
"Moving defendants argue that Pacquiao has failed to sufficiently allege malice because moving defendants could not have known one way or the other whether Pacquiao had actually taken PEDs when they made the alleged defamatory statements," the order reads. "However, the court finds that Pacquiao has sufficiently pled malice in the amended complaint."

This is like the Mosley case all over again. Everyone on here swore he was going to win that case. Mosley actually had a stronger case than Pacquiao does.

Yup, and he only recanted his lawsuit after admitting on tape that he knowingly took EPO. Anyway, the crux of Mosley's suit was that Conte lied when he stated that Mosley knowingly took PEDS. Mosley acknowledged to taking PEDs but claimed he didn't do so knowingly. He even claimed that he passed a lie detector test. Now Mosley's case was flimsy. However, Conte was at least a reliable source. What I mean by that is that a reasonable person would have good reason to believe Conte's claims considering he provided Mosle with "supplements".

Now let's look at Pacquiao's suit. For him to win, he has to prove that Mayweather accused him of being on roids despite knowing full well that he wasn't. First off, there weren't even concrete accusations from Mayweather Jr. Second, Mayweather is not a member of Pac's camp, he has no first hand knowledge of anything that Pac is taking. Therefore, any accusations of steroid usage would have to be treated as a baseless guess. If Pac were a regular person, that would be enough. Given that he's a public figure, he needs to prove that Mayweather Jr. knew he wasn't juicing. That's going to be pretty much impossible for Pacquiao to prove given the nature of the relationship of the two.

There is such thing as honor whether you're a boxer or a beauty parlor manicurist. I think Manny is on the right track in pursuing this case.

Yes, what is being established is malice in telling lies to malign the honor of a person. That's what you call libel. :deal Yes, those are pieces of evidence. It is a established truth that the Mayweathers uttered those statements.
