One of Pacquiao's repertoire of physical gifts is that he has a freakish reservoir of stamina.

I've never seen Pacquiao look tired, EVER. In the 12th round, his punches always appear to have as much steam as in the 1st, sometimes he even gets stronger as the rounds go on.

Manny Pacquiao is like the energizer bunny multiplied many times.

Of the current active boxers, is Manny Pacquiao 1st when it comes to stamina?

calzaghe throws arm punches 90% of the time, theres a difference between throwing as much as he does and throwing as much as Pac who actually sits down on his punches and puts his weight in it

but yeah, Margo's another story, i cant say his is better then Pacs, since Pac actually stays on his toes and bounces around which consume more energy then just stalking and walking forward, but still he has excellent stamina too

Pacman's workrate is very good, but Calzaghe's is just freakish

Berto appears to have great stamina. Paul Williams as well.

Margarito and Pac have to rate well above Calzaghe, they all have great stamina but Calzaghe doesn't nearly sit down as much on his punches.

He looked tired vs Morales & Marquez.

I think Mayweather & Calzaghe have as good or better stamina than Pacquiao.

Pac's is good but Margo's and Calzaghe's is better, plus Calzaghe does it 30lbs north of either of them, and arm punches or whatever, thats impressive.

I disagree. Just try it yourself on a heavy bag. Throw as many arm punches as you can for 2 minutes and take a break. Then throw fewer punches but punch really hard for 2 minutes. I garantee you, you'll be more tired after the second set. Not to mention that Calzage does not get hit as much as pacman which is also something to consider. taking shots to the head and body especially hard shots like the ones that Manny often gets hit with would make most fighters fade but Manny keeps throwing.

I understand what you mean, but all jokes aside, Calzaghe has to put something on them, these arent ****wits he's keeping of him during a fight, these are profesional boxers, and if they were just silly taps(likehe does on that video when he's doing 1000 punches a minute or whatever the ****) they would walk through it. Even in a 6 shot burst, at least half have to have something on it, and doing that in the volume he does it throughout the fight at 175 is pretty impressive.

I cant take points off him for being harder to hit than Manny, that wouldnt make sense. Both manny and margo have exceptional stamina but for me calzaghe edges it.

They're was a thread a few weeks ago about a heavyweight that does something close to the output of these men so i'd throw him in there as well, I want to say Wlad, but im not sure, cant remember. Whoever it is, throw him in the mix aswell, coz thats impressive.

Sure it makes sense. We are not judging stamina here not defense. It is a fact that shots wear a guy down. When a guy can take shots and keep punching the way that Manny does it's a testament to his stamina.

PacMan is a special fighter and stamina is one of his many gifts - especially now that he isn't killing himself to make weight. :smoke:smoke
