Only had a chance to watch the fight today, was working on Saturday night. From what I read about the fight I was expecting Pacquiao to be totaly out classed and outfought by Marquez but instead I watched a very close fight that could have gone to either boxer. A lot of the rounds were so close it was hard to split them and as the judges who are not encoraged to give even rounds they must have gone with PacMan because of his work rate. A draw would have been a fair result IMO
Because most of the post you were seeing are from *****s, pisstards and haters making a close fight a robbery.
Exactly. The level of exagerration about the fight is hitting mythical proportions! So called "knowldgeable fans" claiming a robbery, a schooling, DESTROYING (that's my faceatsch), making look amatuerish.... it's just fanboy hyperbolic knee-jerk reactions to a guy they wanted so desperatately to win looking better then anyone had imagined. Marques or Pac winning close, or a draw, no problems with. Don't expect TOO many objective replies though.
EXACTLY!!!! The fight was nothing like I was expecting. I think the fact that most people expected Pacquiao to destroy him gave people a destorted view of the fight. The fact is who ever lost would have felt hard done by.It was a close NOT controvercial desision.
IF it was that close then how do you explain the judges scorecards? JMM never had a chance and if it could have gone either way then how come it always goes to the more popular fighter? Regardless of how you put it JMM got robbed.
the scorecards were quite close though. and i think the explanation that the busier fighter was given close rounds is both reasonable and accurate. robbery is when a fighter who clearly won was not given the decision. neither marquez nor pac have ever clearly been the better
