It looks like Valero is next. Arum said in the post-fight conference that there are negotiations to make with the Asian televisions (of course the Japan TV fee is important since Valero fights in Japan), but the undefeated SFW champ is the plan for November. He also mentioned the Venezuelan's name and the date on confidential, adding that Texas (where Valero is now licensed) or Las Vegas (where they are trying to get a licence) could be the site, both where PacMan is very popular. Hatton or another LW is for 2009.

What a knockout war will this be!

Edwin Valero (WBA SFW champ): 24-0; 24KO

Manny Pacquiao (WBC LW champ) 47-3-2; 36KO

    60 KOs combined!

I remember this fight was the most demanded for Pacquiao after Valero won his title against Mosquera, but Valero became more exposed as the crude fighter that he is the more he fought.

Is AllBlack still around, I rememeber his first thread here in ESB was
"Valero has mad skillz and would take Pacman to school"

 Valero is not much about defense but all about offense. Very strong, very big hitter but of course easy to hit. PacMan should be the heavy favorite, but it's still a great fight. Not so many other possibilities left since Diaz is fighting Katsidis, Casamayor-JMM and Campbell-Guzman.

    Valero guaranteed action! :happy

People can say that . . . due to Valero's medicore list of opponents . . . but we still need to see that happen. :D

This all depends on Arum. It's money talk bud.

    Pacquiao KO5 Valero

I haven't seen much of Valero, but from what I have seen, he throws looping punches and he sticks his chin out.. Pacquiao would eat him up on the inside and he would definitely catch that chin of his..

I have personally been waiting for this for a long time. I think Valero has a punchers chance of winning because of his sheer power, but of course I pick Manny as the favorite. I'm looking forward to this fight very much. Thanks for the post BigBone!

Not sure why this match is happening. I thought the plan was to take over the lightweight division and move north. Taking on a 130lb unproven entity doesn't do much for Manny's legacy at this point, and to be honest although he will probably win, to do so he has to go into Valero's wheelhouse which could produce fireworks ala Kelley vs Hamed.

I like this match and dislike this match both. Not sure what to think.

Just because Valero has a bunch of KO's doesn't mean he deserves a fight with Pac, theres at least 5 people i would rather see Pac fight than this guy.
