Why is there so much talk about this matchup?

As far as I can see Valero needs to fight a real live body. Why are we trying to match him up against the guy that is rated #1 in the sport? I know he's got a great KO record, but its mostly against cans. He has some potential but he's too slow and raw at this stage. Let's see him get a few credible wins under his belt and it might look interesting.

    indeed.

valero would be better off fighting a powerless boxer like guzman at 135 (if joan could make the weight).

I mean for real, I read about it recently and don't remember the exact details but had something to do with a terrible motorcycle accident and he has like a plate or something in his head. And the article pointed out about how even getting tagged on the chin, the rest of the skull is in play for absorbing the shock.

Pac could literally kill the dude.

There's a better chance that we see the fight in 2009 is Pac loses to Hatton. :deal Pac doesn't need to beat anyone to fight Valero. It's Valero who needs to prove himself worthy.

Why penalize Pacquiao with a very bad traumatic experience if indeed that he fights Valero and something bad happens to Valero? It would certainly be a disaster and a nagging conscience for Manny! I think the Pacman deserves better than that...

Freddie Roch said in a past interview that Pac-man may take the fight in the future tho would ko Valero due to his one one dimension and the calibre of opponents he has fought. I think it would be a interesting match up but Pac - man by ko.

arum clearly wants this fight to happen which leads me to believe it will,it'll be a great exciting give & take war while it lasts before pac gets him out of there in about 8 or 9 rounds.
